Chapter 27
Tension filled the air as Emmaโs stern gaze landed on Natalie, who stood her ground, demanding a tenfold revenge.
Nickโs frustration was palpable. He thought Natalie was being really dumb by making things worse with the Spencers instead of trying to get along with them.
Emmaโs voice trembled slightly as she spoke, โNatalie, you saved me, but this demand is too extreme.โ
Natalieโs response was a cold smirk. โExtreme? Mrs. Spencer, I saved your family by rescuing you. Itโs fair for your grandson to make amends. Iโve suffered cyberbullying, mockery, threats, and even a slap from him.โ
Her finger pointed accusingly at Easton and Jennifer, โThese two framed and insulted me. Wasnโt it all because Jennifer took my place as the savior?โ
Easton tried to smooth things over, speaking soothingly, โNatalie, breaking Mr. Spencerโs hands is too harsh. We messed up, and weโre sorryโโ
But Natalie was unyielding, cutting him off sharply, โEaston, you donโt get to apologize. Youโve been the puppet master, pulling strings to get a deal with the Spencers.โ
Eastonโs eyes narrowed as he asked, โWhat are you implying?โ
Natalie turned to Emma, her voice firm, โWhat Iโm implying is something the Spencers need to figure out. Itโs not my problem.โ
Eastonโs voice was icy. โNatalie, you donโt trust me?โ
Natalie scoffed, โYou never trusted me. Why should I trust you?โ
Easton was left without words, overwhelmed by guilt. Ever since Jennifer came back, there had been non-stop conflict, and he had never trusted Natalie, who had supported him through his toughest times.
With a proud lift of her chin, Natalie addressed Emma, โMrs. Spencer, if you donโt mind...?โ Emma stayed silent, and Natalie took that as agreement.
Murray stood there, dumbfounded. Suddenly, a sharp slap rang out, and Murrayโs face stung. Before he could react, another slap landed, followed by eight more in rapid succession.
As Murray reeled from the slaps, a searing pain shot through his wrist. His scream shattered the quiet, startling everyone in the room.
Emma watched in disbelief as Natalie moved with breakneck speed, her actions too quick to stop.
Another scream tore through the air as Murrayโs palms were brutally broken by Natalieโs hands.
The crowd stared in horror as Murray writhed on the ground, his eyes filled with hatred for Natalie. The pain was unbearable, a sensation he had never experienced in his life of privilege.
The room fell silent, the only sound the click of Natalieโs high heels as she approached Murray. โMurray, I know youโre rich and full of yourself. Your words have hurt me deeply. You have no clue what youโve put me through."
โMoney might make you feel powerful, but it doesnโt mean you can treat others badly or belittle their lives,โ Natalie said firmly.
In her previous life, Natalie had endured much due to Murray, who was manipulated by Jennifer into persistently harassing her. But she was determined not to be a victim this time. With her speech concluded, Natalie crouched down and lifted Murrayโs injured hands.
Emma couldnโt bear to watch any longer. She quickly intervened, her voice trembling as she said, โNatalie, youโve had your revenge. What more do you want to do?โ
