Chapter 257
On the other end, Declan laughed arrogantly and said, โNatalie, youโre as easy to trick as ever. Just come over and take care of Mr. Wright to switch with me. The address is at the stadium outside the city. Iโll send it to you.โ
Natalie refused, โNo need, I know the place. And you keep dreaming, Mr. Simpson. In dreams, anything can happen." After saying this, she hung up.
According to Natalieโs memory, the so-called Mr. Wright was George Wright. She remembered he loved to gamble, and he had a piece of land.
Back then, the person behind Jennifer bought the land and developed it into a vacation resort. A surprise hot spring emerged, making it a viral spot, and it secured major investments, earning billions.
This took Jennifer and that personโs business to new heights.
Natalie remembered the land belonged to George, who loved racing. She had met him before, so she decided to check it out. If it was the George she remembered, sheโd be willing to take a chance.
Natalie turned and went to the garage, took out a sports car, and drove off.
As Easton got into his car, he noticed the gates of Natalieโs mansion slowly opening, and Natalie drove out in a red sports car. He frowned, wondering where she was headed so late. Easton decided to follow her.
Natalie drove for forty minutes before reaching the racetrack outside the city.
Jason and Declan both loved racing. Declan was more fond of motorbikes. Jasonโs racing skills were better than Declanโs.
When she got there, Natalie parked the car outside and walked in. From a distance, she could see the glow of lights not far away. The area was stacked with all kinds of tires.
Declan was tied up, hanging among the tires. His face was bruised, and even his nose had a few bloody scratches. The Simpsons were quite the lookers, all inheriting the best traits from Wendy and Nick. However, Declan resembled Wendy more, with little resemblance to Nick.
A few race cars were parked on the track, and five or six guys dressed in edgy fashion were standing nearby.
Their hair was dyed blonde, giving them a rebellious vibe. Their baggy pants swayed in the cold wind, and the clinking of their large gold chains was sharp in the night.
Declan shouted, โNatalie, you finally made it. Why did you take so long? Donโt you know itโs really cold in the mountains now?โ He was shivering from the cold, glaring at Natalie.
Natalie just gave Declan a brief glance, then looked at George sitting on a bench not far away.
George had his leg crossed, hands casually on his knee, leaning back in the chair with an air of elegance. His posture was relaxed, yet his presence was strong, watching her leisurely.
Natalie took a closer look at him and recognized him right away. He was indeed George, the well-known heir in the Shagrity real estate circle.
Everyone respectfully called him Mr. Wright. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. At the moment, the piece of land he held in the south of the city was the worst and least valuable.
If Declan hadnโt called her tonight, it wouldnโt have been easy for Natalie to meet George.
Natalie had already torn Jenniferโs ace cards up a few times. In this life, she wanted to see how Jennifer would still be as arrogant as the last.
George looked at the breathtaking Natalie and laughed. He said, "Declan, I didnโt expect you to have such a stunning sister hidden away. Sheโs not just beautiful; sheโs like a goddess.โ
Natalie thought, โHe is fine as long as he keeps quiet, but once he speaks, he ruins his charming presence.โ
Some people were like thatโthey sat there silently, looking like regal prince, but the moment they started talking, they turned into total hooligans.
Declan looked at Natalie, thinking, โI already have a sister like Jennifer. Natalie doesnโt really matter. There is hardly any attachment between us.โ
He said, โMr. Wright, Iโll give this sister to you. Enjoy yourself however you want; donโt go too far. Sheโs the least favored in our family.
โIf something happens to her, weโll take care of it. It wonโt trouble you. Can you let me go now?โ
Though Natalieโs heart was already numb from pain, those words still hurt.
George stood up with a smile. He looked incredulously at Declan and said, โDeclan, people say your Simpson family is cruel, treating adopted daughters worse than animals. I didnโt expect those rumors to be true.
โA grown man willing to destroy his sister to save himself. Someone like you isnโt even worthy of being my opponent. Considering you one was my mistake and an insult to me.โ
Declan looked pale. He stared at Natalie and said, โNatalie, you canโt blame me for this. If youโre going to blame someone, blame the fact that youโre not favored.
โBlame it on always competing with Jennifer for everything. You even tried to take her man. The situation youโre in today is already a favor from me.โ
Natalie suddenly burst into laughter.
โNatalie, what are you laughing at?โ Declan asked, shivering in the cold yet still keeping a nasty attitude toward Natalie.
Natalie gave Declan a sharp look and said, โDeclan, I left the Simpson family long ago. Iโve signed the severance papers, cutting all ties with you. If you were dreaming, itโs time to wake up now.
โIโm not here to see you. Iโm here to meet Mr. Wright. Why would I save a jerk like you, who enjoys bullying me all the time?
โAnd you say itโs a favor for me to save you? Who do you think you are, the president himself? In my eyes, youโre nothing more than a dog.โ
โNatalie, youโฆโ Declan shouted. He was furious. He thought, โGordon said Natalie has changed. Indeed, she has. She has become more confident and even more beautiful!โ
Declan shouted, โWhy did you dress up so beautifully? Is it because you canโt stand Jennifer being in the spotlight, so you purposely decided to steal it from her? Youโre such a vile, horrible woman, always competing with Jennifer.โ
Declan thought, โOur most beloved sister is Jennifer. That vicious woman, even if sheโs related by blood, can forget about being my sister.โ
Natalie suddenly walked over and slapped Declan hard across the face. She said, โDeclan, comparing me to someone as nasty as Jennifer, who are you trying to insult?โ
Declan looked at Natalie in disbelief, eyes wide open. He asked, โHow dare you dare me?โ
Natalie replied, โItโs already done. Why wouldnโt I dare? Declan, I have nothing to do with the Simpson family. Iโm not here to save you. Itโs time for you to wake up from your dream.โ
With that, she turned to George and said, โMr. Wright, whether Declan lives or dies has nothing to do with me.
Declan shouted, โNatalie, how can you be so wicked?โ
Natalie coldly interrupted Declan, saying, โYouโve already called me vicious. Shouldnโt I live up to your words and be even more vicious? Is it because you have no parents to turn to so you called me?โ
โNatalie, youโฆโ Declan shouted. He was so angry his chest felt numb, and he nearly passed out. If he hadnโt been tied to the tire and unable to break free, he would have jumped up to hit Natalie.
But Natalie ignored Declan and focused on Georgeโs charming face. She smiled brightly. Her tone was airy yet challenging as she said, โMr. Wright, I, Natalie, am here to challenge you.โ
