Maybe it was because Natalie never fought back or talked back before. Jennifer really couldn’t believe Natalie had become so bold, daring to hit her right in front of Easton.

Such an audacious Natalie wasn’t off-putting. However, Jennifer thought as she wished she could kill Natalie.

“Natalie, how dare you hit Jennifer?” Vance leaped out from the shadows, shielding Jennifer and glaring at Natalie.

Vance said, “You dare hit Jennifer right in front of Easton? Who knows how you bully her when no one’s around?”

Natalie retorted, “You’re such a fool. You can’t even handle your own problems, yet you still stand up for others.”

She recalled the scene tonight of Khloe wrapped up with a man, kissing passionately. Natalie decided to send the photos of the scene as a marriage gift to Vance.

She had been thinking wrong. Rather than watching Jennifer handle them, she’d prefer to see them fight amongst themselves.

Khloe had been ruthless to Tiana back then, just to win over Vance, so this generous gift from her couldn’t be overlooked.

“Natalie, what did you just say? What’s this foolishness? Why did you hit Jennifer?” Vance asked furiously, astounded by her audacity.

Natalie laughed and said, “Because she was trying to seduce my husband. You’re her brother, how can you just let her try to seduce my husband? What kind of brother are you that you can’t even manage your own sister?"

“With a father, a mother, and a brother who cares for her, how did the Simpson family end up raising such a shameless daughter?”

Natalie threw Vance’s earlier taunts back at him. In the past, whenever Jennifer complained that she was being bullied, Vance would say, “How did your foster parents raise you? To only do cruel things and still try to seduce men?”

Clearly, it wasn’t her fault; Jennifer had been the one to give up, yet in the end, she was the one being blamed.

Vance was surprised. He thought, “Why do those words sound familiar?"

Jennifer was so angry she couldn’t speak. Natalie had changed so much that she was completely unrecognizable to her. Seeing Easton’s expression made Natalie’s heart grow cold. She thought, ‘Is this what family is, what a husband should be?’ Natalie glanced at Easton and said, “You guys really make me sick with ‘hypocrite’ written all over you from head to toe. Ex-hubby, just call me anytime if you want a divorce.” After saying that, Natalie walked away with a swagger.

The dappled lights were cast on her back, making her look like a night sprite quietly disappearing into the darkness.

Easton chased after her and caught up. “You promised you’d come back with me.”

She stopped and looked at him determinedly. She said, “No, I really don’t feel like living under the same roof as you. Your plan sounds great, and you now know what Jennifer is like. I don’t want to upset her; I want her to upset you instead.” She wanted to watch Jennifer send them all to hell while she reaped the benefits, and Natalie chuckled mischievously.

Easton laughed too, so that’s what she was thinking.

Under the night sky, Easton looked incredibly handsome, with long bangs partially falling over his forehead. His sharp features appeared even more elegant, and seeing him like this still made her heart flutter.

But Easton was too deep and calculative; she could never outsmart him.

However, at this point in this lifetime, Easton didn’t trust Jennifer as much. Maybe things would change, but she didn’t know how far it would go.

Jennifer’s ambition was much greater than just marrying into a wealthy family and having a son live a life of luxury. She wanted far more than that. She wanted to be a queen, using Easton, Murray, and Colin as stepping stones.

Even though Natalie’s heart was moved, she didn’t dare fall in love with Easton anymore.

Easton decided on the next best option. “Alright, it’s late. I’ll drive you back since it’s hard to get a cab around here.”

Natalie looked around and realized it really was hard to get a cab, but she’d already called one, and it was only a few minutes away.

She said, “No need, I’ve called a ride, and it’ll be here soon. You should go back and take care of Jennifer. I slapped her, and she’s probably feeling quite upset right now.”

Easton’s patience was almost completely exhausted by her.

Natalie was harder to please than Jennifer; a designer bag could cheer up Jennifer, but Natalie… she’s a tougher nut to crack.

Easton suddenly realized he had never actually bought anything for Natalie. She was never materialistic and never asked for anything from him. For two years, she took care of him without any complaints or regrets.

At first, he thought he had judged her wrongly and believed she was full of deceitful schemes. But Natalie never once plotted against him.

His eyes were clouded by his favoritism for Jennifer, and that was true. He couldn’t deny those facts.

She was living a comfortable life, had her own job, and her style of dressing had completely changed. It was like she grew up overnight. But he didn’t know that Natalie had to have a near-death experience to truly grow up.

Soon, the car Natalie called arrived. She got in, and Easton reminded her to stay safe on the road.

Natalie didn’t bother to respond. No one needed concern that came too late.

Natalie couldn’t afford to be so generous. Easton’s thoughts were as deep as the ocean. Maybe he was just pretending to agree with her while secretly showering Jennifer with affection. These were things Easton would definitely do.

The resources Jennifer had were changing. She seemed anxious, but Colin was ambitious, and the Spencer family’s wealth was out of reach. Murray wasn’t fooled this time, and the Simpson family fell into debt because of Wendy’s actions.

Natalie thought, ‘Who’s going to be next? It’s still the Spencer family. Their overseas ventures are the most enticing to Jennifer.’

The rules abroad weren’t as strict as at home. Jennifer’s investments overseas far exceeded her local ones, and her greatest asset was that man.

Natalie’s head was aching because Luna kept investigating but still hadn’t found any clues.

“Easton, here’s an invitation. I’m getting married, and you absolutely have to come.” Vance came to give Easton the invite. Easton definitely needed to attend his wedding; only then would they continue to work together.

Easton took the invitation and examined it, feeling a strange sensation deep inside. He thought, ‘So, there are actually such things as weddings.’

When he and Natalie got married, there were just two marriage licenses and nothing else. Thinking about it this way, Easton felt somewhat guilty toward Natalie.

He replied casually, “Sure! I’ll be there when the time comes.”

Vance laughed, truly happy that he was willing to attend his wedding. “Thanks, Easton. But Natalie is really out of line; she was the one who came between you and Jennifer…”

Easton said, “Vance, just a reminder, but if I change the bride to Jennifer, I’ll lose my management rights."

“All you Simpson brothers have my business, and if you make that change, you’ll all get kicked out too. You might like living under a bridge, but I don’t.”

Easton interrupted him and gave Jennifer a cold look. The familiarity between her and William surprised him, and he looked at her with a mysterious expression. “Jennifer, I didn’t know you were so close with my dad?”
