Wendy laughed in anger. It wasn’t the first time she saw Nick skillfully passing the buck. Previously, he had teamed up with Jennifer to suppress Natalie.

Wendy thought, ‘Wait, does he always target Natalie because he knows about that incident? Is that why he deliberately left Natalie out? But how could he possibly know?’

Wendy’s eyes were filled with fury as she looked at Nick, who remained unfazed. “Nick, every day I work tirelessly for the company, and yet here you are, cozying up to another woman at the party. Everyone can see it, and you accuse me of being jealous? Why don’t you mention how much your company loses in a year and how I’ve been covering for your deficits?”

Nick wanted to keep up a good image, but she was determined to ruin his reputation. As soon as Nick heard this, his expression darkened immediately.

Nick argued, “Wendy, you shouldn’t talk like that. We’re all family.”

Wendy sneered, “Nick, when you’re being sweet with other women, don’t you call them family? When you’re in bed with this woman, do you say she’s family? Last time I caught you red-handed, and now you’re drinking together again. I don’t believe there’s nothing going on between you two.”

Wendy wasn’t afraid of falling out with Nick. Each step felt like walking on thin ice, but she no longer needed to put up with it.

Nick froze, his face turning extremely awkward as he heard the gossip around him. He had always valued his reputation, being seen as the perfect husband his whole life, yet Wendy ruined it with just a few words.

He laughed and explained, “Wendy, the last incident was a misunderstanding. It was Natalie who set me up…”

Natalie interrupted him, “Mr. Simpson, that incident at Mr. Wayne’s party, you were the one who stepped into it. Why are you still trying to pin it on me?”

Hearing Nick defame her again, Natalie had to speak up. When Wendy saw Natalie, her eyes glistened with tears.

Natalie didn’t look at her. Instead, she focused on Nick and said, “Mr. Simpson, you’ve slandered me over and over again. This time I’m going to report it to the police.”

At the sight of Natalie, Nick’s face contorted with fury. “Damn it! Why are you here? Get lost!”

Natalie’s eyes were icy. He was the one who should leave. Starting today, Natalie was unstoppable. She would never again give them a chance to defame her.

Natalie sneered, “Sorry, but you keep defaming me, even going so far as to broadcast that I set Jennifer up. Given how ruthless you both are, maybe I should air your sordid affairs with Jennifer for all to hear? And are you really sure there’s nothing going on between you and the woman behind you?”

Natalie looked at Nick and felt incredibly disgusted.

Nick froze, a flash of panic in his eyes. “Natalie, this is my family matter. It has nothing to do with you…”.

Natalie snapped, “Your family matter has nothing to do with me, but why do you keep slandering me? You cheated and then claimed I set you up. Yet, the security footage clearly shows you weren’t drunk and you didn’t take any drugs. You walked in there on your own, so why was this my fault?”

Natalie took out her phone and dialed 911. She wouldn’t feel even the slightest sympathy for Nick, that shameless man.

Natalie said to the phone, “Hello, officer. Yes, there’s someone who keeps slandering me, even live-streaming accusations that I framed his daughter, but I’ve never done that. In fact, he and his daughter often plot against me. I have evidence and I’d like to report this. Please help.”

Natalie reported the hotel address and then ended the call.

Nick was falling apart. “Natalie, you little brat, how dare you call the cops on me?”

Natalie’s eyebrows knitted together. She wondered, ‘Little brat? What did he mean?’

Wendy slapped Nick across the face. “Nick, you jerk.”

Wendy’s hateful glare made Nick hesitate. “No… Wendy, she’s called the cops on me…”

“You start insulting her the moment you open your mouth. Shouldn’t she call the cops on you?” Wendy asked with a cold smile. “If you’re so scared, why were you talking trash just now?”

Nick was stunned, suddenly feeling that Wendy had changed. He thought, ‘When did it all start?’

Nick looked at Wendy with a dark expression, wondering, ‘Could she have really found out and been putting on an act this whole time?’

Wendy gave him a mocking smile.

Nick’s heart was pounding. If he got taken away by the police tonight, his company would be ruined by tomorrow.

Nick looked at Natalie and said, “Natalie, I was just kidding. Please drop the charges. I promise I’ll never say things like that again.”

Nick was very sneaky and cunning, like an old fox who could adapt to any situation, showing no shame at all.

Natalie said ruthlessly, “Sorry, you might think it’s a joke, but I’m serious. If you haven’t learned the law, go to the police station and let the officers teach you how to behave.”

Natalie didn’t hold back against the Simpsons. She wouldn’t show any mercy anymore.

The police arrived quickly, and Nick was taken away.

However, Wendy approached Camellia, who backed away in fear. “What do you want?”

Wendy felt nauseated at the sight of Camellia. Camellia had turned her marriage of over twenty years into a joke.

Wendy looked at her with a gentle smile. “Ma’am, don’t be scared. I didn’t have a choice earlier. My husband’s been acting strangely lately. The doctor suspects he might have Alzheimer’s, and he just confused you with me. I realize I shouldn’t have hit you earlier. Please don’t hold it against me. We’ve been together for so long, our marriage is rock solid. It just kills me to see him with other women. I let my emotions get the best of me. Really, don’t take it personally. As you can see, he’s been rambling today, which might be a symptom of his condition. I got the results from his check-up, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell him he was ill. And then tonight, he just suddenly had an episode.”

Camellia was stunned. She thought, ‘Nick has Alzheimer’s? How is that possible? Wendy must be the one with dementia signs, so why is it Nick?’

Natalie was also taken aback, wondering, ‘What’s Wendy up to now?’

But Natalie quickly figured it out. Wendy wanted to send Nick to a psychiatric hospital. Now with rumors spreading about Nick having Alzheimer’s, it was likely only a matter of time before he might become violent. Then they could easily commit him and label him as mentally ill.

Camellia couldn’t help but ask, “Is he really suffering from Alzheimer’s?”

Wendy lowered her eyes with a sigh. “Yes, he’s already started forgetting things and even rambling.”

Wendy pulled out a medical report and said, “Look, I couldn’t bring myself to show him the diagnosis. I love him deeply. He’s always number one in my heart. That’s why I was so upset earlier.”

Honestly, Nick has always been in love with himself.

Natalie watched Wendy’s actions with a momentary daze, wondering what she was really up to.

Suddenly, a terrified scream echoed from upstairs.
