Chapter 197

Jennifer was furious. “Just piss off. I’ll wait here for Easton.”

Xavier really left. After stepping out of the gate, he called Easton.

“What’s up?” Easton’s voice was deep on the other end, so Xavier knew he was off chasing Natalie.

Xavier said, “Mr. Garcia, Ms. Simpson isn’t leaving your doorstep. She’s waiting for you to come back.”

Easton replied, “If she wants to wait, let her. I’m going to the office.” After saying that, he hung up.

Xavier chuckled as he hung up the call. He felt Easton was just cruel, aside from being wealthy.

When Easton loved Jennifer, he treated her like a treasure, but when he didn’t, he treated her as if she meant nothing to him.

Xavier turned and glanced at Jennifer crouching at the doorway, thinking, ‘Well, you’re more like a lapdog to him than I am.’

After an hour, Easton still didn’t show up. Frustrated, Jennifer called him.

Easton told her he was working late at the office and suggested she go home.

She asked for the password, but Easton said that this was his home where she was not welcomed anymore.

Jennifer was furious but had no choice but to leave.

Since Easton was working like crazy, Jennifer knew she had no chance tonight.

Jennifer left the villa, looking quite disheveled. She looked at the luxurious neighborhood, which was once her dream.

Standing by the roadside, she took out her phone and called William, Easton’s father.

“Hello, Jennifer.” William’s voice was gentle.

Jennifer felt wronged. “Mr. Garcia, I need your help. Easton won’t agree to divorce Natalie. If you don’t push him, our plan might not work out.”

William said in a deep and raspy voice, “Jennifer, I get it. Don’t worry. I’ll be back by tomorrow.”

Jennifer was delighted to hear this. “Thank you, Mr. Garcia.”

William said, “Since he is willing to invest in you, it means that he still values you. You must win his heart, understand?”

Jennifer understood and replied in a soft voice, “Yes, Mr. Garcia.”

Thinking of Natalie’s designs, Jennifer thought, ‘She really has a talent for design. Back then when she lived with our Simpson family, she had kept her abilities hidden. In this case, don’t blame me.’

Jennifer was determined to drag Natalie to hell. Natalie’s existence drove her crazy and put her on edge. Somehow, she hated Natalie very much. She wouldn’t stop until Natalie died.

Natalie got home safely and received a message from an unknown number.

[Natalie, I’ll kill you.]

Natalie was startled. She wondered, ‘Who would send such a horrible message so late at night?’

She ignored it, grabbed her clothes, and went for a shower.

After her shower and drying her hair, Natalie picked up her phone and saw a message from Easton.

Easton sent: [Why didn’t you come back tonight?]

Natalie rolled her eyes and said in her heart, ‘Doesn’t he know why?‘

Regarding the divorce, unless Easton compromised, she had no options.

She couldn’t compete with Easton’s financial power, and she wasn’t at his level in terms of ability yet.

Natalie was troubled. All she could do was smile and wait to file for divorce with the photos of Jennifer and Easton cheating.

Natalie lay in bed, looked at the soft, white bedding, and rolled around comfortably.

She couldn’t waste any time in this new life. She knew that Easton had become distant towards Jennifer, but Jennifer’s scandalous character was, by nature, really disgusting.

Jennifer was greedy, wanting both money and fame, and she wouldn’t give up any of them.

In this life, just like the last one, Jennifer mingled with the elites of high society. She used her skills to get the deals she desired. What Colin had planned was unexpected to Natalie.

Murray didn’t share anything about the Wayne family with Natalie that afternoon either.

Natalie closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep, having long forgotten about the message Easton had sent her.

In the office of the Garcia Group, Easton sat in his chair, noticing the message he sent hadn’t received a reply. He knew Natalie wouldn’t message him back.

Easton watched as Xavier brought in some late-night snacks.

Xavier smiled and said, “Mr. Garcia, have some late-night snacks."

Easton replied, “Okay.”

After he stood up, he asked, “Still no leads on that man’s whereabouts?”

Xavier shook his head. “Mr. Garcia, I couldn’t find any trace of him. But Mr. William Garcia called me. He wants to see you tomorrow. I’m guessing he wants you to divorce Ms. Shawn and marry Ms. Simpson.”

Easton laughed coldly, a deadly intent growing stronger in his eyes. “He is trying to control me now? Keep dreaming.” However, Xavier reminded him, “Mr. Garcia, Ms. Simpson is very cautious. The fact that she could send those photos to Ms. Shawn shows she isn’t afraid of that man being caught. I really couldn’t trace any sign of him.”

Now, they were stuck in this endless loop.

Easton picked up a shrimp and ate it, glancing at Xavier.

Xavier started feeling uneasy under his gaze. Xavier forced a smile and asked, “Mr. Garcia, why are you looking at me like that?”

After eating the shrimp, Easton finally said, “Natalie knows a lot, including the man behind Jennifer. She’s been holding a grudge against Jennifer because she’s been waiting for Jennifer to ruin the Simpson family and me. That man is real.”

Xavier was shocked. “Mr. Garcia, how much hatred against Ms. Simpson does Ms. Shawn have, to watch all this happen right in front of her eyes?”

Easton narrowed his eyes, thinking of something. He then said, “No one paid attention to what she was doing before, but after she left, she starts to stand out. Jennifer is getting uneasy because of this.”

Xavier was confused. “Mr. Garcia, what should we do?”

Easton finally revealed his true intention. “Place our people around Natalie.”

Xavier shook his head and said, “That’s really hard. Ms. Shawn’s only assistant is Luna. Other than Luna, it’s difficult for anyone else to get close to her.”

Easton took a deep breath, thinking about what Natalie had said about that man coming back in a year.

Easton said in his heart, “That’s coming up soon.”

“Then forget it,” Easton muttered, lowering his head to eat.

Xavier ate while checking the trending topic online, which had already been removed from the list.

Till now, there was still no response from Natalie.

Xavier said, “Mr. Garcia, someone removed the trending topic.”

Easton said, “After you’re done eating, find out who did that.”

Xavier said, “Yes.”

The next day, Natalie didn’t go to the office. The design issue had been settled, so she didn’t need to be there. Instead, she drove to meet Zoe.

Jennifer came to find Natalie early in the morning, but Natalie wasn’t in the company.

Luna stayed at the company to manage things, which was part of Natalie’s plan. Natalie knew that since Jennifer discovered she was the designer, Jennifer wouldn’t easily let her off and would try everything to ruin her.

Therefore, before she went to Zoe, Natalie told Luna to let Jennifer into the office if Jennifer came looking for her.

Seeing Jennifer arrive early in the morning, Luna was in a bad mood. She thought, ‘Natalie was right. Jennifer really came. Seeing Natalie’s office, Jennifer was really jealous. She thought, Natalie doesn’t deserve such a nice office.”

She looked at Luna and said haughtily, “Where’s Natalie? Let her come.”
