Chapter 130

Natalie let out a frustrated laugh. She hadnโ€™t expected them to use such a trick, and now she was feeling the effects of the drugs, her body weak and unable to run.

โ€œMurray, you canโ€™t even stand up. Do you think I can run?โ€

Murray looked at her with a half-smile. โ€œNatalie, looks like weโ€™ll be on this road to the afterlife together.โ€

Natalie was speechless. She didnโ€™t need any company, and she certainly couldnโ€™t die.

โ€œMurray, dying is painful. Last time, you met a terrible end, with your arms and legs all chopped off,โ€ Natalie looked at him with pity.

Murray felt a chill in his heart, somehow convinced she was telling the truth.

Seeing her unwilling expression, Murrayโ€™s eyes held a hint of melancholy and a dash of roguish charm. โ€œNatalie, donโ€™t you want to be with me? With a face this handsome, Iโ€™m one of a kind, you know.โ€

Natalie glanced at him. โ€œSorry, I chose to stay alive.โ€ She still had revenge to take; she couldnโ€™t die just yet.

Murrayโ€™s lips curled into a wild, mischievous, and sexy smile.

โ€œDamn! You two are staring death in the face and chatting? You guys, get them out of here. Take them out the back, load them into the car, and head straight to the mountains.

โ€œAs for this girl, the boss said to treat her well. Make sure you find a few strong men to keep her company.โ€

Murray curled his lips crudely, ruining his usual handsome aura. His deep, dark eyes lost their usual playfulness and shot a cold glance at the man.

Natalieโ€™s eyes shone with a cold light. It was the same old trick, but hardest on women.

The two were dragged away in a pitiful state.

Murray, however, wasnโ€™t in a hurry. A devilish, carefree smile appeared on his charming face. Looking at the silent Natalie, he said, โ€œHey, Natalie, do you think this will bring us closer?โ€

Natalie chuckled in annoyance. โ€œYou think this is romantic?โ€

โ€œArenโ€™t we in a pretty romantic situation now?โ€

โ€œGet in the car. Romantic? How about you two enjoy your romance on your journey to the underworld,โ€ The man rudely shoved Murray into the car.

Murray, exhausted, lay awkwardly on the seat, his tall frame sprawled out. Natalie, also out of strength, was thrown directly onto him.

A faint fresh scent drifted over, and Murrayโ€™s gaze became even more intense. He stared deeply at Natalieโ€™s stunning face, but her eyes were filled with intense disgust.

Looking at the man who had pushed her, Natalie was fierce and full of determination.

Then several men got into the van.

They didnโ€™t care about the positions Murray and Natalie were in.

The exhausted pair remained just as they were before. Natalie was half-lying in Murrayโ€™s arms. Murrayโ€™s hand was around her waist, and she held onto him, but had no strength.

Yet her faint, elusive fragrance intrigued him, his eyes intense and deep.

After the van drove off, Luna started the car and followed. Just then, the car door opened and Easton and Xavier quickly got inside. Easton looked at Luna. โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€

Luna coldly said, โ€œGet out. Ms. Shawn doesnโ€™t want to see you.โ€

Xavier wanted to explain, but Easton spoke first, โ€œI told you to drive. Follow them now.โ€ His tone was strong, with a cold edge to his voice.

Luna didnโ€™t have time to argue with him. She started driving, tailing the van in front. The car was driven from the branch.

Lunaโ€™s driving was steady, always keeping a consistent pace as she stayed close behind Natalieโ€™s car. She also called the police, gave them her contact information, and sent her location to them.

Xavier watched Luna drive. She was slender and beautiful, but very aloof. Xavier wondered how much courage it would take to warm up such a cold girl.

The lights around her flickered, making her delicate face seem even more unapproachable. Eastonโ€™s eyes were fixed on the car ahead, radiating such a fierce intensity that it could make anyoneโ€™s skin crawl.

Luna sensed it, finding it ironic and amusing. โ€œIs Mr. Garcia here to watch our Ms. Shawn embarrass herself?โ€

Easton frowned at her comment. โ€œWhat do you mean by that?โ€

Luna scoffed. โ€œHavenโ€™t I made myself clear? Isnโ€™t this kind of nasty tactic something you and the Simpson family enjoy using?โ€

Xavier quickly explained, โ€œLuna, donโ€™t misunderstand. Todayโ€™s events have nothing to do with Mr. Garcia. Weโ€™re here to handle the bar issue.โ€

โ€œHmph! Without Eastonโ€™s indulgence and the heartless Simpsons, would Ms. Shawn have been hurt?

โ€œYou gave her the cold shoulder. The Simpsons looked down on her. She was so exceptional. For the sake of so-called love and family ties, she nearly wore herself out.

โ€œEaston, two years ago when you lost your sight, Natalie personally went to the highest mountain to pick herbs for you. On those steep cliffs, she risked her life to collect the best herbs, and she barely escaped from being bitten by poisonous snakes.

โ€œDid you think your eyes could be healed after such a serious injury? No. The doctors had already given you a grim diagnosis!

โ€œIt was just that Natalie didnโ€™t let anyone tell you. Even Xavier knew it, as he was the one who gave you the report.

โ€œNatalie went to her master for the formula. After getting it, she had to find the rare ingredients herself because no ordinary pharmacy had such valuable herbs.

โ€œThat day, Natalie and I went to search for your herbs, and we stayed on the mountain for ten days to gather everything you needed.

โ€œBack then, she was always thinking about how to heal your eyes and fix your leg.

โ€œBut what about Jennifer?โ€ Luna paused, then continued, โ€œNatalie has done so much to save you. Comparing her to someone like Jennifer is an insult to her. She has no regrets about what she did for you.โ€

Xavier suddenly remembered. โ€œI remember now. Those ten days, I was taking care of Mr. Garcia. Ms. Shawn said she had found a very good doctor, but this doctor had a strange temperament and didnโ€™t want to come out. She begged the doctor to visit, and it might take about ten days before she returned. Could it have been that time?โ€

Luna nodded coldly. โ€œYes, that was the time. It was the dead of winter. The herbs were on the edge of a mountain with an altitude of 3,000 meters. I didnโ€™t recognize the herbs, so I couldnโ€™t help her. All I could do was ensure she had three meals a day. I hunted a wild boar to give her enough calories each day.

โ€œOne day, she went to the mountainโ€™s highest peak to find the most important herb and got attacked by red wolves. She nearly had an accident and came back with her hands covered in blood.

โ€œAt night, it was freezing cold, and she and I huddled in a cave. She always clung to a sliver of hope that once you got better, youโ€™d fall for her.

โ€œYour eyes and your legs healed so quickly because Natalie used the best medicine in the world on you. Itโ€™s a lost secret formula that money canโ€™t buy, which is why there were no side effects on your eyes. In fact, your eyesight is now several times sharper than before!โ€

What Natalie did for Easton and the Simpson family went far beyond these. Luna thought these people were all ungrateful jerks.
