Natalie sat across from Murray, smiling as she looked at him. Her beautiful eyes curved, and her smooth skin made her lightly colored, cherry-red lips stand out, vibrant and charming. โSeeing me, are you disappointed or happy?โ
Murray exuded a mischievous vibe. โOf course, happy. You came to rescue me, and Iโm genuinely happy about that!โ His last words were spoken very earnestly, and the playful vibe toned down, showing a more composed demeanor.
โI warned you to be more careful, yet you still got caught. Other people learn from mistakes, but what about you?โ Natalie knew he had been very careful. When problems arose at the branch, he had been busy dealing with company issues.
โWell, even though I was on guard, I couldnโt escape their schemes,โ Murrayโs charming eyes turned dark and deep.
He suddenly raised an eyebrow, looking at Natalieโs smooth skin. Her lips were beautiful, painted with a peachy gloss today, looking soft and perfectly kissable with her petite cupidโs bow.
Murrayโs gaze deepened a bit. โIf Jennifer finds out you came to save me today, she wonโt make it easy for you.โ
โDo you think Iโm afraid of her? Besides, it might not even be her since thereโs no evidence,โ Natalie sneered as she watched the police arrive. She handed over a USB drive. โOfficer, we submitted a request earlier for some new evidence, and this USB drive contains it.โ
Hearing there was new evidence, Murray gave a nonchalant glance at Natalie with a faint smirk playing on his lips and his eyes half-laughing.
His team searched every corner of the bar and found nothing. He was quite surprised that Natalie actually found the evidence.
Upon seeing the new evidence, the police immediately initiated an investigation.
The footage showed Murray talking with a few business partners at the bar. As the night wore on, several partners got drunk and left one after another. Two guys were completely wasted, sprawled unconsciously on the couch across from him.
Only Murray was left, lounging casually on the sofa. He was waiting for his assistant to bring the car when a middle-aged man quietly came in. Seeing Murray sitting on the sofa, the man gave a wicked smile and slyly slipped a bag into Murrayโs bag.
A few minutes after he left, the police came in. Five people were still in the private room. They had indeed done something illegal in there. But when they searched Murray, they found the drug on him.
The police, upon seeing this video and the man who planted the drug on Murray, looked serious, recognizing him as a repeat offender.
โWe didnโt find your fingerprints on the bag either. Once we verify the videoโs authenticity, you can leave.โ
The police left after speaking, and ten minutes later, Murray was released due to insufficient evidence and because it had been twenty-four hours.
Outside the police station, Murray raised his hands high, stretched lazily, and a smile appeared on his handsome face, adding a touch of charm. โAt last, Iโm free.โ
He tilted his head towards Natalie, his voice sincere. โNatalie, thank you.โ He was curious about where she got the evidence from, but sometimes it was best not to say certain things to keep the relationship strong.
Natalie truly cared about him, and in this world, it was rare to find someone like her.
His tall figure towered over Natalie, his eyes lowered, lashes quivering slightly, while a smile played on his crimson lips, exuding a tempting allure.
Natalie lifted her gaze and met his smiling eyes, her heart skipped a beat. He was truly captivating. It was obvious that he tried to entice her. Natalie thought he was really asking for trouble.
โNatalie, Iโm hungry. Let me treat you to a meal.โ
Natalie nodded with a smile. โOkay, youโve been here for two days. Go home and get changed first.โ
Murray looked around at himself and took a sniff, realizing he really did smell bad. โAlright, Iโll go back to my place to shower. Iโm starting to find myself unpleasant too.โ
โOkay. I wonโt go with you then. Iโll just take a walk nearby. Call me when youโre done,โ Natalie didnโt want to make another trip.
Murray didnโt want her to tire herself out either. He pointed to a street not far away and said, โNatalie, thereโs a pedestrian street up ahead. Why donโt you guys check it out? Iโll find you in about thirty minutes.โ
Natalie nodded. โOkay.โ
With a smile, Murray walked away briskly.
Natalie and Luna headed towards the direction Murray mentioned.
The city was beautiful, with many seasonal flowers blooming along the road. Natalie really liked this place.
But she hadnโt walked far before Easton, coming out of the police station, blocked her path. Easton stood tall, casting a shadow over Natalie.
His presence was strong and intimidating, making Natalie step back, only then remembering Easton was also there. Frowning, Natalie looked at him and asked, โDo you need something?โ
Eastonโs deep eyes held hers. โWhen are you going back?โ
Natalie shook her head. โI donโt know.โ
โCome with me. I have a private jet.โ His tone was firm.
Natalie laughed in frustration, โI remember you bought that private jet the day Jennifer came back. You once told me the jet was bought for Jennifer, and Iโm not worthy to sit in it.โ
Easton froze because he had really said that. โThat statement no longer holds,โ His voice was deep.
Natalie sneered, โBut the harm is already done. Easton, there was a time when I had a lot of hope for you. Now I suddenly understand that when you place too many hopes and expectations on a lover, you hand over your own happiness to them, as well as your right to love yourself.
โNow I realize that marriage is not a chain. Itโs about mutual respect and tolerance. So Iโll let you two be together, and maybe Iโll be a little happier too.
โMy love for you was once as intense as the sun, completely filling my heart. Seeing you upset made me lose my appetite and I couldnโt sleep either. That deep affection and longing made me lose myself for a while.
โThatโs why I stuck with you for so long. But now Iโve learned to let go, so please donโt hold on to me,โ She had learned to let go. She had truly loved Easton with all her heart.
She didnโt shy away from this topic. She was brave to say it out loud. Everything she did was because she loved him. Yet she endured so much unfairness.
Easton trembled as she took back her love for him. The harm was completely real. Easton stood silently in place.
Natalie walked away with Luna. She had her own plans tonight and couldnโt let Easton spoil them.
Xavier felt helpless. He thought, โWhat on earth have you done? Natalie took care of you in the past two years, and sheโs not worthy to take your private jet? Jennifer spent billions of your money and you took her as a treasure?โ
At the Simpson residence, Jennifer received word that Natalie had rescued Murray. She vented her anger and afterward, sent a message to the other side.
After sending the message, Jennifer had a mysterious smile, โNatalie, just be ready to meet your end.โ
