Rebirth of a Flopped Actress: Career First, Love Second

Chapter 287: Paul, the Kenneth Familyโ€™s Third Son

Lilianaโ€™s phone suddenly rang. Seeing Paulโ€™s name on the screen, her previously cold and ruthless demeanor shifted into a warm smile as she answered the call.

โ€œPaul,โ€ she said softly.

โ€œHey, Liliana! Iโ€™m back in the country today. I even brought back the stuff you mentioned from Hyrallia personally,โ€ Paulโ€™s cheerful voice came through, full of dng affection.

Lilianaโ€™s expression while talking to Paul was entirely different, radiating the playful charm of a younger sister.

Amelia overheard snippets of the conversation and couldnโ€™t help but marvel at how cherished Liliana was in the Kenneth family. Liliana was the only daughter of the Kenneth family, with three older brothers. Each of them was a renowned figure in their respective fields and treated Liliana like a princess. No matter what she wanted, her brothers would go to any lengths to get it for her.

Amelia couldnโ€™t help feeling envious. Looking at the Kenneth familyโ€™s three outstanding brothers and then at her own Jamesโ€”he was nothing but a useless troublemaker, incapable of accomplishing anything except creating problems. Sometimes Amelia wondered if her life would have been different had she been the one swapped into the Kenneth family. Would I now be living as the adored center of attention?

Meanwhile, outside a cafe, Paul stood tall and handsome in a stylish coat and sunglasses. After ending his call with Liliana, he put his phone away with a satisfied smile. Marshall, who had come to pick him up, glanced at his phone and then at Paulโ€™s smug expression.

โ€œSeriously? Can you stop parading around with that lovestruck expression? Itโ€™s creepy,โ€ Marshall said with a mock shiver.

Paul rolled his eyes. โ€œAdmit it, youโ€™re just jealous because you donโ€™t have a little sister.โ€

Marshall sighed. โ€œHaving a sister is such a big deal, huh? I have a younger brother, you know.โ€

Paulโ€™s devotion to his sister was, in Marshallโ€™s opinion, downright excessive. โ€œIf you keep this up, Iโ€™ll leave and head to Borealia Military Academy alone,โ€ Marshall warned, smirking.

โ€œDonโ€™t! I havenโ€™t stretched my legs in ages. Itโ€™d be great to spar a little,โ€ Paul said enthusiastically. โ€œIf my dad hadnโ€™t been so against it, Iโ€™d have joined the military too. Weโ€™d probably be comrades by now.โ€

Marshall raised an eyebrow. โ€œNot rushing home to visit Liliana?โ€

Paul replied, โ€œIโ€™ll see her soon enough, but sheโ€™s busy with work right now. Itโ€™s the perfect chance to see Borealia Military Academy. Didnโ€™t you mention a new instructor whoโ€™s supposedly a martial arts genius?โ€

Marshall shook his head at Paulโ€™s boundless energy. The Kenneth family had likely made the right call keeping him out of the military. With Paulโ€™s aggressive tendencies, heโ€™d probably be a permanent fixture in military court.

โ€œMy father said the new instructor isnโ€™t from the military. Apparently, they even knocked Felix flat during a demonstration,โ€ Marshall said.

โ€œLetโ€™s go!โ€ Paul grabbed Marshall and dragged him toward Borealia Military Academy, eager for action.

Elsewhere, Olivia was preparing to release more information when she saw Starlit Entertainmentโ€™s public statement. They had pinned all the blame on Daisy to protect Amelia. Grinding her knuckles, Olivia decided to add fuel to the fire. Just as she was about to act, her phone rang. Seeing Felixโ€™s name on the screen, Olivia sighed.

โ€œHello?โ€ she answered.

Felixโ€™s voice came through immediately. โ€œOlivia, the contract is signed and everythingโ€™s set. Donโ€™t you think itโ€™s about time you paid a visit to the military academy?โ€
