Rebirth of a Flopped Actress: Career First, Love Second
Chapter 287: Paul, the Kenneth Familyโs Third Son
Lilianaโs phone suddenly rang. Seeing Paulโs name on the screen, her previously cold and ruthless demeanor shifted into a warm smile as she answered the call.
โPaul,โ she said softly.
โHey, Liliana! Iโm back in the country today. I even brought back the stuff you mentioned from Hyrallia personally,โ Paulโs cheerful voice came through, full of dng affection.
Lilianaโs expression while talking to Paul was entirely different, radiating the playful charm of a younger sister.
Amelia overheard snippets of the conversation and couldnโt help but marvel at how cherished Liliana was in the Kenneth family. Liliana was the only daughter of the Kenneth family, with three older brothers. Each of them was a renowned figure in their respective fields and treated Liliana like a princess. No matter what she wanted, her brothers would go to any lengths to get it for her.
Amelia couldnโt help feeling envious. Looking at the Kenneth familyโs three outstanding brothers and then at her own Jamesโhe was nothing but a useless troublemaker, incapable of accomplishing anything except creating problems. Sometimes Amelia wondered if her life would have been different had she been the one swapped into the Kenneth family. Would I now be living as the adored center of attention?
Meanwhile, outside a cafe, Paul stood tall and handsome in a stylish coat and sunglasses. After ending his call with Liliana, he put his phone away with a satisfied smile. Marshall, who had come to pick him up, glanced at his phone and then at Paulโs smug expression.
โSeriously? Can you stop parading around with that lovestruck expression? Itโs creepy,โ Marshall said with a mock shiver.
Paul rolled his eyes. โAdmit it, youโre just jealous because you donโt have a little sister.โ
Marshall sighed. โHaving a sister is such a big deal, huh? I have a younger brother, you know.โ
Paulโs devotion to his sister was, in Marshallโs opinion, downright excessive. โIf you keep this up, Iโll leave and head to Borealia Military Academy alone,โ Marshall warned, smirking.
โDonโt! I havenโt stretched my legs in ages. Itโd be great to spar a little,โ Paul said enthusiastically. โIf my dad hadnโt been so against it, Iโd have joined the military too. Weโd probably be comrades by now.โ
Marshall raised an eyebrow. โNot rushing home to visit Liliana?โ
Paul replied, โIโll see her soon enough, but sheโs busy with work right now. Itโs the perfect chance to see Borealia Military Academy. Didnโt you mention a new instructor whoโs supposedly a martial arts genius?โ
Marshall shook his head at Paulโs boundless energy. The Kenneth family had likely made the right call keeping him out of the military. With Paulโs aggressive tendencies, heโd probably be a permanent fixture in military court.
โMy father said the new instructor isnโt from the military. Apparently, they even knocked Felix flat during a demonstration,โ Marshall said.
โLetโs go!โ Paul grabbed Marshall and dragged him toward Borealia Military Academy, eager for action.
Elsewhere, Olivia was preparing to release more information when she saw Starlit Entertainmentโs public statement. They had pinned all the blame on Daisy to protect Amelia. Grinding her knuckles, Olivia decided to add fuel to the fire. Just as she was about to act, her phone rang. Seeing Felixโs name on the screen, Olivia sighed.
โHello?โ she answered.
Felixโs voice came through immediately. โOlivia, the contract is signed and everythingโs set. Donโt you think itโs about time you paid a visit to the military academy?โ
