Chapter 269: We Can’t Let Her Slip Away

Brogan and Corey observed the entire fight through the monitor. Brogan’s face couldn’t have looked worse. Felix was one of the best fighters at Borealia Military Academy, yet Olivia had knocked him out with just two punches?

Corey, on the other hand, was beaming with delight. His face wrinkled into a cheerful grin. “See? I told you, but you wouldn’t listen! You’re too young, boy. You’ve got a lot to learn! Students from Aeroville Military Academy, even the dropouts, are not in the same league as your average Borealia Military Academy fighters.”

Corey chuckled inwardly at his son’s embarrassment. That’s what you get for trying to cheat by sending in the instructors. And now? Your face got smashed, didn’t it?

Brogan’s expression turned more serious. After watching Olivia today, he finally understood why Corey had made the effort to return for someone who had dropped out.

Brogan sighed. “It’s a shame someone like her is wasting her talent in the entertainment industry.”

Corey snorted. “Thanks for pointing out the obvious.”

“Should we consider blocking her career in the entertainment world?” Brogan asked.

Corey stroked his beard thoughtfully. “You think I haven’t thought of that? But if she’s set on not coming back, shutting down her entertainment career won’t do much. She’s capable of succeeding at anything she chooses. You just don’t understand her. That girl may look cheerful, but she’s as stubborn as they come. Once her mind is made up, even eight tanks wouldn’t drag her back.”

Brogan frowned. Losing to her was one thing, but as a soldier, seeing such raw talent go to waste truly pained him. “How about this? I’ll talk to her myself.”

Corey shrugged. “Sure, but don’t mention me or say I was here. Pretend you found her talent on your own. Leave me out of it.”

Brogan nodded. Then, after a moment’s thought, he asked, “What about her academic performance at school?”

Corey replied, “Perfect scores across the board.”

Brogan swore that even if he had to threaten her, he would bring Olivia back to the military academy.

After the sparring match, the students returned to rest and prepared for dinner. Just as Olivia finished freshening up and was about to join Whitney and the others for food, a military instructor approached and invited her to an office.

Following the instructor, Olivia entered the room and saw a stern-looking middle-aged man radiating a strong military presence sitting inside.

“Have a seat,” said Brogan.

Olivia calmly took a seat to the side.

The seemingly harmless girl was Aeroville Military Academy’s top-entry genius.

Brogan had already planned his approach. Without mentioning Corey, he would say he had noticed her talent and ask if she would join Borealia Military Academy.

From the moment he recognized Olivia’s talent, Brogan had decided to compete with Corey for her.

Before he could say anything, however, the office door flew open. Felix, his arm in a cast, burst in while shouting, “Mr. Brogan! That girl Olivia is insanely strong! She’s perfect for Borealia Military Academy! She’s a once-in-a-century military genius! You’ve got to figure out how to recruit her! I’ll even apologize to her in person if I have to! We can’t let her slip away!”

Brogan, caught off guard by Felix’s sudden declaration, felt his head ache.

Olivia thought, uh… what just happened?
