Chapter 22: Let Alexander Pick Up the Tab
Isabella was stunned and overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events. A piano worth over three million… It was something she had never even dared to dream of owning.
“No, no, Livi. This is too much; I can’t accept it,” Isabella quickly shook her head.
“Now that it’s bought, you can’t return it,” Olivia said with a fond smile, ruffling Isabella’s hair. She then looked at the staff member who was still standing respectfully nearby.
The staff member immediately understood and said, “Yes, yes, once purchased, our items cannot be returned or exchanged.”
Not only was returning it out of the question, but if Olivia had asked him to apologize, he would have done so without hesitation. It was clear that Olivia was someone of extraordinary status and importance to Mr. Michael, as even the staff member now treated her with utmost respect.
How could I have such poor judgment? I didn’t expect that now, even wealthy people dress in such a minimalist style.
“Also, my house is too small to fit it,” Isabella’s voice wavered. The grand piano took up a lot of space, and her tiny home couldn’t accommodate it.
Olivia paused, realizing she had overlooked this detail. “Carlos Harmonies has practice rooms for rent, doesn’t it?” Olivia asked the staff member.
The staff member nodded vigorously. “Yes, indeed. They are quite affordable with a monthly rent of one hundred thousand.”
Affordable? Isabella nearly choked on her breath.
“Let’s book it for six months. She’ll cover the cost,” Olivia said calmly, pointing to a dumbfounded Lily.
Lily’s eyes widened in shock. She never imagined that this seemingly unsophisticated girl could afford a piano worth over three million!
“Ah! This isn’t right,” Isabella was anxious. The cost of the piano and the monthly rent were beyond anything she had ever imagined. This was even more extravagant than a dream!
Olivia smiled at Lily, whose expression was now one of anger and frustration. “Of course, if someone wants to back out, they can. All it takes is an apology acknowledging their poor judgment.”
“After all, I’m not someone who holds a grudge.”
Lily’s frustration reached a boiling point. She could barely contain her rage. “How dare you! Apologize for what?” She couldn’t believe she was being told to admit to poor judgment.
“Fine! I’ll pay!” Lily spat out through clenched teeth, tossing her black card at the staff member’s face.
The staff member, eager to resolve the situation, quickly processed the payment and handed Isabella the key to the practice room.
With the piano purchase thwarted and sixty thousand wasted, Lily was desperate to leave. She stormed out of Carlos Harmonies with her two followers.
“Please feel free to let us know if you need anything else,” the store clerk said with a fawning smile.
Olivia waved her hand, instructing him to arrange for the piano to be moved to the practice room.
Once the clerk left, Isabella finally voiced her confusion. “Livi… So you’re this wealthy?”
The changes in Olivia over this period were so dramatic that Isabella sometimes doubted if the girl in front of her was still the same Olivia she had known.
Olivia blinked. “Made a guess?”
The reason Olivia chose Carlos Harmonies as her target was that she knew the store’s owner, Michael, was a friend of Alexander’s and would certainly recognize the Wilson family’s black card. In her previous life, to please Alexander, Olivia had memorized all his acquaintances. And every Saturday morning, Michael would be at Carlos Harmonies. The timing, location, and people were perfect!
That black card was given to her by Mr. Liam of the Wilson family shortly after she married into the Wilson family. Although the black card isn’t a bank card and can’t be used to withdraw money, it can be used for credit under the Wilson family’s name.
In her previous life, Olivia had never used the card to avoid causing trouble for Alexander. But in this life, why should she save money for him? She wanted to splurge! She wanted to buy everything she wanted! Let Alexander pick up the tab!
