Chapter 152: Jos Is Dissatisfied With Olivia
A day later, Olivia arrived on set with her new agent, Jared. For the past few days, Jared had been swamped. Having just taken over as her agent and being an intern only a few days into the industry, this was nothing short of a catastrophic nightmare.
“Olivia, I called the office yesterday. In situations like this, we need the company to step in and hire a PR team, but they kept saying no one’s available,” Jared said, almost in tears. It was only his first day working with Olivia, and she was already being bashed across the entire internet. The only solution he could think of was to hire a PR team, but the company had no intention of helping.
“That’s normal,” Olivia replied calmly. She had been curious about why Daniel had suddenly assigned her a new agent. Now, she understood. Daniel must have known about Eve’s plan well in advance, so right before Eve went live, he replaced Olivia’s agent with Jared. This way, even if she became the target of criticism, it had nothing to do with Daniel. Jared, being a rookie with no experience or connections, was completely incapable of handling the situation.
“Olivia, aren’t you worried at all?” Jared was on the verge of breaking down and felt even more nervous upon entering the set. He had spent several days reviewing Olivia’s past work and knew how disastrous her acting and styling had been. On top of that, Jos was notoriously strict in the industry. Considering the previous reports about Jos being dissatisfied with Olivia, Jared’s heart trembled. He was already bracing himself for Jos’s wrath to spill over onto him.
“Kid, you’re still too young,” Olivia patted Jared on the head. Standing at over six feet tall, Jared felt like Olivia was treating him as a child. And he was actually over a year older than her!
Soon, Jos’s furious voice echoed across the set, and Jared immediately felt a sense of impending doom. Jos sounded really angry. Should I take Olivia to the dressing room to lay low for a while? But, of course, the very thing he feared happened. Just as Jared was looking for the dressing room, he saw Jos storming toward Olivia with a grim expression. Jared panicked.
“We’re doomed! Olivia, Mr. Jos is coming…”
However, just as Jos, face dark as a thundercloud, reached Olivia, his displeasure disappeared in an instant. Jared was stunned. Olivia smiled. “I will.”
“You’ll be filming a scene with Amelia later. This scene’s crucial for Penelope’s character development, so make sure to hit the right tone,” Jos reminded her warmly.
Olivia nodded. She had been looking forward to this scene for a long time.
“All right, go get your makeup done,” Jos said with a smile. Finally, an actor who is completely hassle-free. Olivia led Jared to the dressing room, and Jared’s face remained blank the entire way. It wasn’t until they were inside that Jared finally snapped out of his daze.
“Olivia, that was Mr. Jos just now, right?”
“Yeah.”
Jared’s head was spinning with question marks. “Isn’t Mr. Jos supposed to be super strict?” But what he had just witnessed was Jos treating Olivia with a shocking level of kindness! The way Jos had smiled as soon as he saw Olivia was nothing like the iron-fisted director he’d heard about.
“He’s not that bad,” Olivia said, unfazed, as she pulled out a chair and sat down. Jared glanced at Olivia and then thought about all the rumors swirling online about her over the past few days. At that moment, he wished he could turn back time, record Jos’s attitude toward Olivia, and slam the footage into the faces of those marketing accounts! Who says Jos is dissatisfied with Olivia? He’s obviously more than impressed!
