Chapter 55 Her Real Face

Tilda walked in front, and Kyla followed behind.

When Kyla wasnโ€™t looking, Tilda quietly pressed a hidden button.

Kyla spoke first, her voice weak and soft: โ€œTildaโ€”โ€

โ€œKyla, drop the act already. Donโ€™t you get tired of living every single day with that fake face?โ€

Tilda turned, her eyes sharp and cold, stabbing right into Kyla.

โ€œIโ€™ve already cut all ties with the Jensons. Isnโ€™t that what you always wanted?โ€

โ€œThat trending scandal? That was you. You bribed the editor-in-chief. You handed over those photos. Everythingโ€”you planned it all just to make the Jensons hate me and kick me out of their lives.

โ€œWell, congrats, you got your wish. Youโ€™re the only heiress now. The Jensons canโ€™t stand me, and Iโ€™ll never get a cent of their fortune. So tell meโ€”why are you still chasing me down?โ€

Kyla panicked, her eyes filling with tears as she shook her head over and over. โ€œTildaโ€ฆ y-youโ€™ve got it all wrong. I donโ€™t know what youโ€™re talking about. None of this has anything to do with me.โ€

โ€œNothing to do with you? Do you really think Russell canโ€™t find the truth? Heโ€™s the chairman of the Jenson Group. Do you even know how much power he has, how many people he knows?

โ€œHe already suspects something. He knows that the editor was bribed. You really think he didnโ€™t investigate more? Kyla, how long do you think you can actually keep hiding?โ€

Kylaโ€™s heart sank, her pulse stuttering.

Tilda had stabbed her right in the weak spotโ€”her biggest fear was Russell finding out.

If only Tilda had been dumb enough to take the blame herself, Kyla wouldโ€™ve been safe.

But now that Tilda exposed the lie, Russell knew someone else was pulling strings. If he really chose to dig deeperโ€ฆ

โ€œTilda, thereโ€™s a misunderstanding between us. That thing you said, I swear on my life I didnโ€™t do it!โ€

โ€œSave your breath. You think Russell suspects something, but wonโ€™t push further.

โ€œBut we both know why heโ€™s staying quiet. Russell knows thereโ€™s a traitor inside the Jensons.

โ€œAnd who gained the most from kicking me out? He didnโ€™t say it out loudโ€”he was just giving you a little dignity.โ€

Kylaโ€™s face turned pale, her expression twisting uglier with each word.

Every word Tilda said hit a sore spot, and she had nothing left to fight back with.

โ€œTilda, I know youโ€™ve got it wrong about me, but one day, youโ€™ll see Iโ€™m not a bad person.

โ€œI came today because I want you to go back to the Jensons. Just apologize to Mom and Dad. Deep down, they miss you like crazyโ€”they just donโ€™t know how to lower their pride.

Ever since you cut ties, the whole familyโ€™s been miserable. A warm home turned cold. Please, Tilda, Iโ€™m begging youโ€”go back.

โ€œIf you do, Iโ€™ll pack up and disappear from their lives forever. Youโ€™ll never have to see me again.โ€

Kylaโ€™s tone sounded full of sincerity, not a hint of fakeness.

But in reality, this was her plan all along.

It was the perfect step-back-to-move-forward trick.

She was offering a sacrifice so sweet that Tilda would be tempted to take it.

Because the real trap wasnโ€™t Kyla leavingโ€”it was what would happen after.

Once Tilda went back to the Jensons, Kyla stepping aside would turn into the deadliest trap.

She had already noticed Howard and Wade slowly leaning toward Tildaโ€™s side.

If she didnโ€™t strike now, Tilda might rise again.

Seeing Tilda go quiet, like she was really thinking about it, Kyla wiped her tears and said, โ€œTilda, I was the one abandoned at the orphanage. Meeting the Jensons was the biggest blessing of my life. I already had 18 years of love from themโ€”thatโ€™s more than enough. This family was always yours. Iโ€™ll give it back now. Please, Iโ€™m begging you, come home.โ€

โ€œHmmโ€ฆโ€

Tilda dragged the sound out, lips curling into a mocking smile as she stared Kyla down.

โ€œYou really put on a show. Iโ€™ll give you that. But my answer is no.โ€

โ€œWโ€“what?โ€

Kyla froze, stunned.

No?

Why would Tilda refuse?

This is the chance she shouldโ€™ve been dreaming of!

โ€œFirst off, when I say I cut ties with the Jensons, I mean it. Iโ€™m disgusted to share blood with them.

โ€œSecond, Kyla, your acting may be perfectโ€”youโ€™ve got the Jensons wrapped so tightly that they canโ€™t even see daylight, but with me? Doesnโ€™t work. So donโ€™t waste your effort.โ€

And Tilda had to admitโ€”Kylaโ€™s acting really was flawless.

The kind of performance that could win her an Oscar on the spot.

Otherwise, how else could she have fooled the whole Jensons into never seeing her real face?
