Chapter 454

When the news traveled back home, it stirred up quite a commotion. Zappyโ€™s potential had already been proven in the domestic market. At this point, calling Zappy a must-have app on par with WhatsApp wasnโ€™t exaggerating at all.

Many official public accounts joined Zappy, using it to share updates and broadcast information in real-time.

It wasnโ€™t surprising that Zappy would gain traction overseas, but what was truly shocking was, could this thing actually be addictive? It was insanely popular in the country, and now it went viral globally the moment it launched abroad.

Rumor had it that even the President of Novara registered an account on Zappy and publicly stated how much he enjoyed the app. With the President taking the lead, it was no wonder the public followed suit.

Some capital forces tried to attack Zappy, accusing it of leaking user data, and even attempted to pressure the government to shut it down. But, unexpectedly, users on international platforms openly shared their personal information and strongly opposed the ban on Zappyโ€™s short videos.

โ€˜Are they all crazy?โ€™ Bryan thought.

The Wilson family naturally saw the news as well. Bryan was in his room, feeling deeply unsettled.

Every compliment Ronald had given Aubree now felt like the sharpest blade, carving into Bryanโ€™s heart, leaving him uneasy and fearful.

โ€œKnock, knock, knockโ€ฆโ€ The door rattled with the knocks, and Bryan said softly, โ€œCome in.โ€

โ€œBryan,โ€ Daxton greeted as he stepped inside. He looked like he had just returned from the lab, with clearly seen exhaustion under his eyes.

Daxton didnโ€™t really care about family matters, neither did he care about the company. To him, the biggest benefit of being part of the Wilson family was that it gave him a steady stream of funding for his research.

โ€œYouโ€™re back? Howโ€™s everything going at the lab?โ€ Bryan asked.

โ€œWeโ€™ve cracked the hardest part. Itโ€™s just clinical trials left now,โ€ Daxton replied briefly. Right now, everyone was talking about Aubree. It was impossible even if Daxton wanted to ignore it.

โ€˜Dadโ€™s probably dreaming every night about Aubree coming back, isnโ€™t he?โ€™ Daxton thought. โ€˜But if Aubree comes back, will there still be a place for Carmen in this family?โ€™

Daxton didnโ€™t hesitate for even a secondโ€”he didnโ€™t even stop to rest before rushing over to see Bryan. If Carmen were back, the only person in this family who would still be on her side would be Bryan.

The more Aubree demonstrates her business acumen, the more unsettled Bryan would feel, Daxton thought.

โ€œBryan, if Aubree comes back, what are you going to do?โ€ Daxton asked, getting straight to the point.

Bryan was at a loss for words. He didnโ€™t expect his seemingly aloof younger brother to come to him about this matter.

โ€œLetโ€™s be frank, Bryan. I donโ€™t want Aubree to come back. If she does, Carmenโ€™s going to have a hard time. And Iโ€™m guessing you feel the same way, because sheโ€™ll threaten your position in the company,โ€ Daxton said bluntly.

Bryan fell silent; his silence spoke louder than any words. โ€œI understand. As long as Carmen isnโ€™t hurt, Iโ€™ll back you up,โ€ Daxton said. โ€œIf you need me,โ€ he added.

Daxton was about to leave, his hand on the doorknob, when Bryan spoke up behind him. โ€œOne way to resolve this is to knock Aubree off her pedestal. The other is to make sure anyone who wants her back is incapable of doing it.โ€

โ€˜Who would want Aubree to come back? The only person in the whole Wilson family would be Ronald. In other words, Bryan is saying he wants to seize Ronaldโ€™s authority.โ€™

โ€˜If they couldnโ€™t deal with Aubree, then Bryan would just take over Wilson Group himself. That way, even if Aubree comes back, sheโ€™ll be no threat to him at all,โ€™ Daxton thought.

Daxton nodded and said, โ€œIโ€™ll back you up. The next shareholdersโ€™ meeting might be a good opportunity.โ€

Although Bryan was handling pretty much everything at the Wilson Group these days, having Ronald looming over him was an undeniable fact. If Ronald wanted, he could call a board meeting and kick Bryan out whenever he felt like it.

โ€œNo rush. We still have some time. We need to scheme this out step by step,โ€ Bryan said. Having Daxton backing him up was definitely good news.

โ€˜But itโ€™s still not enough,โ€™ Bryan thought, flexing his fingers. โ€˜Itโ€™s been a while since my last talk with Elizabeth. She shouldโ€™ve made up her mind by now.โ€™

[Set up a meeting with Ms. Lawson for tomorrow.] โ€˜Itโ€™s time for a decision,โ€™ he thought as he texted his secretary.
