Chapter 449

It was destined to be a sleepless night, and what Alvin should do weighed heavily on his mind. Was he going to take action against Aubree? He hesitated, closing his eyes. His first instinct had always been to force her to face his parents, beg for their forgiveness, and then disappear from his life for good.

Aubree had a branch office in Sรผdlichen Strand. If she were willing to leave Bowen and Rithol City behind and settle there on her own, Alvin could act as if she had never existed. The problem was figuring out how to make her leave Bowen.

Alvin considered Bowen as her patron, but that still wasnโ€™t sufficient. Suddenly, his eyes flew open, and Alvin fixated on the ceiling. He needed some help.

โ€œThat new BeeShare is really taking off?โ€

โ€œI wonder whoโ€™s behind it. I heard theyโ€™re pretty young, but theyโ€™re mysterious.โ€

โ€œI bet itโ€™s some rich kid trying to make a name for themselves. The way itโ€™s growing, they must have some serious backing. It started in Rithol City, and now my friend in Sรผdlichen Strand says theyโ€™ve got it there too.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not just Sรผdlichen Strand. Rithol City and Sรผdlichen Strand are just their main target marketsโ€”now you can spot those electric bikes in all the top-tier and first-tier cities.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s great, though. Itโ€™s so much easier to get to work now. Before, I didnโ€™t want to bike or deal with the subway after a long day. Now itโ€™s so convenient.โ€

As Aubree left the office, she could hear her employees chatting about electric bikes everywhere. Stepping outside, she spotted those signature yellow BeeShare bikes lined up at the curb.

โ€œThatโ€™s pretty impressive,โ€ she muttered. The person who pulled this off had a sharp business mind.

Had they waited a few more years for better battery and tracking technology, profits could have been higher. At the time, shared e-bikes carried safety risks. Yet if the person behind it had handled those issues well, BeeShare might have replaced regular bike shares and taken over the market.

Aubree took another glance at the bikes before looking away as Vincent arrived. โ€œPlease take me to Rithol University,โ€ she requested.

There was an event at the university today, and Will had personally invited her as a guest. With her current status, even Will would have to show her some respect now. After the event, Aubree wandered around the campus. โ€œThese shared e-bikes are blowing up right now,โ€ she muttered.

Even at a top university like Rithol University, those eye-catching yellow bikes were everywhere, not to mention all the other schools. โ€œThey zeroed in on their target users from the very beginning,โ€ she muttered, feeling a flicker of curiosity about whoever was behind the project.

Whoever it was had some serious connections; not only did they manage to convince Rithol Universityโ€™s administration to bring the e-bikes onto campus, but they even got the school to set up dedicated facilities just for BeeShare. โ€œOver here, easy does it! Fill up this whole row!โ€ The shout drew Aubreeโ€™s attention.

She looked over and saw a truck parked nearby. Workers in BeeShare uniforms were unloading e-bikes, and standing off to the side, directing everything, was Carmen. โ€˜Carmen?โ€˜ Aubreeโ€™s eyes widened in surprise.

Aubree froze for a second, then it all made sense. โ€˜So it was Carmen all along. Yeah, that explained everything,โ€™ she thought.

When she was expanding Bree Technologyโ€™s territory into Sรผdlichen Strand, sheโ€™d done some digging on the Diamonde family. Back then, the info said theyโ€™d recently gotten interested in bike-sharing, but she hadnโ€™t paid it much mind.

Ultimately, the bike-sharing market had already been saturated, and she honestly hadnโ€™t been able to imagine what the Diamonde family could have achieved in that space. But now, everything finally made sense.

The Diamonde family was going for the upgraded version. โ€˜But why would the Diamonde family let Carmen run the project?โ€˜ she thought.
