Chapter 384
Ronald had never considered such a problem before.
He had already publicly severed ties with the Turner Group. The Wilson Group, in alliance with the Lawson Group, had essentially cut off all cooperation with the Turner Group in the business circles of Rithol City.
With the Turner Group already as an enemy, if another rival like Bree Technology emerged, that would be a nightmare.
A flicker of panic crossed Ronaldโs eyes, but he said, โI donโt buy that sheโd just forget everything we had.โ
Even if there was no old affection left, Aubree was still a member of the Wilson family by blood. Ronald felt that there was no way she didnโt want a piece of the Wilson Group.
Just for that reason, he figured Aubree wouldnโt really want to go down in flames with them.
The moment Ronaldโs confident words left his mouth, Sophia appeared on the TV.
At that very moment, every eye in the room was on Trevor.
The instant Trevor saw Sophia, his previously laid-back, unconcerned attitude vanished. His heart started pounding. He kept telling himself that even if Sophia was here, there was no way a few words from her could really hurt him.
But then, the phone recording played, and it completely crushed Trevorโs last shred of wishful thinking.
Ronald stared at him. โDidnโt you say you took care of everything?โ
Carmen spoke up timidly. โHas Sophia always been with Aubree?โ
Trevor hurled the glass in his hand at the TV that was broadcasting the press conference. The glass shattered, and the TV screen cracked.
โSophia and Aubree!โ he growled through clenched teeth. Carmenโs words had just made him realize what was going on. At first, he thought it was just some enemy from his circle who had gotten to Sophia and set him up.
After all, Aubree wasnโt even part of their world, and she didnโt know Sophia at all. He felt that they couldnโt have possibly teamed up. Besides, he hadnโt known Sophia was pregnant, but somehow Aubree did.
โDamn you, Sophia. I canโt believe you played me like this!โ Trevor thought bitterly.
Trevor racked his brain, trying to remember. He felt that the only time Aubree and Sophia couldโve met was back on that film set.
โAubree, I really underestimated you. I bet you and Sophia were already in cahoots back then,โ he thought bitterly.
โI never expected Sophia to go to Sรผdlichen Strand. I thought she didnโt have the guts to play these little tricks on me. That was my mistake,โ Trevor muttered, lowering his head. That phone recording was turning into a real mess for him.
Trevor was in a total disaster.
โIโll figure out a way to fix this,โ Trevor promised Ronald, his head hanging low.
โFix it, and donโt let it affect the Wilson family,โ Ronald said, his gaze icy.
Trevor shuddered. The meaning was crystal clearโif he brought trouble to the Wilson Group, heโd be abandoned without a second thought, just like Emery had been.
He had to make sure Sophia lost the baby, and it couldnโt be traced back to him.
Trevor narrowed his eyes. Instantly, someone came to mind.
The Yurchenko family was finished, but it was Quantavius who took the fall. Milena had nothing to do with any of it.
Quantavius was taken in for questioning, and with all the evidence Aubree provided, he was convicted on multiple charges and sentenced to life in prison.
4:51 PM
It wasnโt just Quantavius. There wasnโt a single innocent soul left in the Yurchenko family. Thanks to Quantaviusโs private accounts, his parents were taken out and executed.
Whatever conscience the Yurchenko family had was reserved for Milena. They never let her get involved in the family business.
The Yurchenko familyโs assets were seized, and Milena was thrown out of her mansion.
She had to make do with the little money left on her card and checked into a hotel.
