Chapter 375
GrabCheap was being targeted. Someone clearly wanted to take her down.
When that narrative took hold, the platform could step in, present hard evidence, and shift public opinion. Only then would people understand the platform wasnโt at fault; someone else was playing dirty out of envy.
Dmytro thought about it and agreed this could work. โBut we still need to gather solid evidence during this time. If it really escalates and we canโt control it, youโll be the one who gets hurt.โ
Aubree nodded. She wouldnโt have taken such a risky route if she werenโt confident. Ever since she suspected the Wilson and Yurchenko families might join forces, sheโd been watching both sides. She had some evidence in hand.
For example, the Yurchenko familyโs transfer records for those terminally ill individuals.
Of course, if those were revealed now, Quantavius could easily spin it. He could say he only gave them money out of sympathy, trying to help those poor souls after seeing GrabCheapโs โimmoral business practices.โ
After seeing Dmytro off, Aubree gave Birgitte a heads-up, telling her not to panic. She should still do some interviews, give vague but acceptable responses. It wouldnโt look good to go completely silent.
Since the GrabCheap incident broke out, Ronald and Quantavius had assumed Aubree would act quickly to minimize the damage. After all, this was the critical stage of GrabCheapโs expansion. Every day of delay meant huge losses.
But oddly, the issue only kept growing, and Aubree hadnโt made a single move. Even Birgitte was just spouting harmless, empty statements in interviews.
โAubree wouldnโt be hiding some big counterattack, would she?โ Quantavius was a bit uneasy.
He hadnโt dealt with Aubree much, but she was a young girl who had once completely flipped his plans upside down. As annoyed as he was, he remained highly cautious. He didnโt want to fall into her trap again. Once might be an accident, but twice? That would make both him and the Yurchenko family a laughingstock in the Sรผdlichen Strand business world.
Compared to his careful wariness, Ronald was far more relaxed. โSheโs just a kid. She barely learned any real business skills. She had some smarts and got lucky getting noticed by Bowen. Thatโs the only reason sheโs where she is now. When things go south, sheโll probably go crying to Bowen for help.โ
Ronald knew exactly how capable his daughter was. Aubree was smart, arguably the smartest in the Wilson family. But she lacked experience. Given time, she might become truly formidable.
If she had come back home, he would have been happy to pave the road for her. Whether she started her own company or helped her brother manage the family business, it wouldโve been great.
Unfortunately, the kid was rebellious. She had to suffer some setbacks before sheโd come back willingly.
Ronald said, โItโs been many days. Bree Technology hasnโt said a word. Bowen hasnโt stepped in either. That confirms what we suspected. Heโs probably enjoying watching Bree Technology fall apart so he can swoop in and buy it all.โ
Ronald had been monitoring GrabCheapโs situation. He was very satisfied. The longer the scandal dragged on, the better. Heโd even heard that Manchotech Group had paused their additional investment, waiting to see how the situation played out.
He smiled. โThis is working out great. Let them keep stirring the pot.โ
Quantavius swallowed what he was about to say. Something felt off. Things were getting out of control, and the buzz was far more intense than heโd expected.
And Aubreeโs lack of responseโฆ
Quantavius hesitated, then said, โRonaldโฆโ
โEnough.โ Ronald interrupted impatiently. โJust stick to the plan. Iโve got other things to deal with.โ In his eyes, GrabCheap was already a dying beast.
Aubreeโs attempt to use the project to gain a foothold in the Sรผdlichen Strand market had failed. Sheโd have to crawl back to Rithol City in disgrace.
And after that, sheโd have to come crawling back to him, begging for forgiveness.
