Chapter 270
Aubree accepted the gift without a second thought. On the first day of school, eager to show off her new wheels, she drove Bowen and Alvin to Rithol University to register for the new semester.
Notably, Alvin had also applied to Rithol University. While Rithol University had its own Fine Arts School, it was still not quite on par with the renowned Rithol Art School.
Today was registration day for all departments at Rithol University. Before Aubree could even reach the main gate, her car got completely gridlocked, leaving her no choice but to park nearby and walk the rest of the way.
โBad call. We shouldโve just taken a cab,โ Aubree said, a little annoyed. Sheโd originally planned to park on campus.
โAll the same. Just here to register.โ
Before the trio reached the university gates, they spotted red welcome banners strung up across the entrance. Upperclassmen volunteers were stationed at the gate, assisting the steady stream of freshmen and their parents as they slowly navigated the crowd, arms laden with suitcases and bags of all sizes.
โFine Art School is in the other direction. I can go by myself,โ Alvin said. The sign showed that the registration points for the Fine Art School and the Finance Department of Economics School were in opposite directions.
Aubree, Bowen, and Alvin hadnโt arrived particularly early, so by the time they got there, most of the new students had checked in. A few volunteers in red vests were lounging under a pop-up tent, chatting and taking a break from the morning rush.
Spotting Aubree and Bowen, someone nudged their friends and called out, โHey, hey, check out that good-looking pair!โ
One of the students murmured, โDonโt these two look familiar?โ
โOh my god! Isnโt that the big shot from Turner Group?โ
Another exclaimed, โWait, isnโt that Aubree Miller?โ
โThe guy next to her. Is that Bowen Turner?โ
All of them were from Economics School, so they werenโt just familiar with Aubree and Bowen. They practically idolized them. Unbeknownst to Aubree, many students at Economics School of Rithol University had quietly begun to see her as their role model.
Many graduating seniors couldnโt help but wonder why Bree Technology hadnโt shown up for the fall campus recruitment.
โDidnโt she rank third in the SAT? No way sheโs actually joining our department, right?โ
โWith academic achievements like hers, does she even need to study here? I bet even her professors canโt match her stellar record!โ
As they looked around, they spotted Aubree walking over. She asked, โHi, is this the registration point for the Finance Department?โ
The students eagerly responded, โYes, the Finance Department at Rithol University is right here!โ
Aubree, in a spaghetti-strap mini dress, was absolutely stunning in the sweltering heat. When she offered a coy smile, even the upperclassman volunteers guiding them were instantly captivated, left momentarily dazed.
The guys couldnโt help but think, โWow, she is gorgeous!โ
Especially the guys. If they werenโt trying to figure out whether she was Aubree Miller, theyโd probably be scrambling to get her attention now.
Amassing a nine-figure fortune by starting her own business at eighteen was worlds apart from being a trust fund baby with the same net worth. The latter might be enviable, but it was the self-made success that truly inspires those young people in their prime.
โWell, are you Aubree Miller?โ one of the male students asked hesitantly.
Aubree signed her name with a faint smile and replied, โIf itโs that Aubree Miller you have in mind, then yes.โ
โWow! Youโre my idol! Let me take you to dorm registration!โ
The guyโs eyes lit up, and he practically tripped over himself in his eagerness to help.
โNo, thanks. Please point me in the right direction,โ Aubree replied. Bowen, who had been standing nonchalantly aside, instantly dropped his relaxed demeanor. In two quick strides, he stepped forward and blocked the guy with his arm, his eyes suddenly sharp and full of warning.
Surrounded by vibrant young university students, Bowen couldnโt help but feel like he was in a sea of potential rivals.
Before Bowenโs guarded expression could fully form, the guy suddenly turned to him, eyes blazing with excitement. โWait, are you Bowen Turner? The Bowen Turner from Turner Group?โ
Bowen nodded hesitantly. The guyโs reaction instantly escalated. โOh my god! Itโs Bowen Turner, in the flesh!โ
Aubree couldnโt help but chuckle as she watched Bowenโs expression gradually stiffen. โThis is Economics School,โ she thought, amused. โDid he misunderstand how his entrepreneurial fame would be received here?โ
