Chapter 211

Aubreeโ€™s disdain only proved to Daxton how clueless she was.

The live-streaming industry had its limits. All Aubree could do now was cling to Playzy. If sheโ€™d had any new ideas, she wouldโ€™ve unveiled them when MindDrift first took off. The fact that she hadnโ€™t meant she was out of tricks, utterly powerless.

"But Carmen," Daxton thought, "Sheโ€™s a different story. With our help and the Wilson familyโ€™s connections and financial backing, Carmen will only soar higher! Once Carmen reaches the pinnacle of success, who would even remember her past misdeeds? Those werenโ€™t stains, just stepping stones on her rise," Daxton thought smugly.

Daxton narrowed his eyes and let out a low chuckle. Let Aubree keep digging her own grave. Straightening his sleeves and collar, he strode back inside. Carmen was in the middle of her interview, and heโ€™d witness every step of her success, personally lifting her to greatness.

In the studio, Carmen eloquently shared her insights on the live-streaming industry. With a perfectly composed smile, she radiated confidence and ambition.

Meanwhile, Bryan finally managed to shake off the reporters and rushed to the location his secretary had mentioned, only to find the Berry family gone. โ€œWhere are they?โ€

The secretary replied nervously. โ€œA woman just took the whole Berry family to the police station."

โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you say that earlier?โ€ Bryan snapped, so furious he nearly lashed out. โ€œAnd you couldnโ€™t even try to stop them?โ€

The secretary was nearly in tears. "How was I supposed to stop them all by myself? The moment the Berry family showed up, reporters swarmed in, and they were surrounded by police officers and Turner family-uniformed bodyguards. Was I supposed to intervene or commit suicide?"

Bryan snapped, โ€œWhat are you waiting for? Step on it. Police station, now!โ€

The car window was open, and the cold wind rushed in, clearing Bryanโ€™s head. Wait, this is way too much of a coincidence. Emery has just been taken away, and now the Berry family, whoโ€™d been hiding so well, suddenly shows up?

The Berry family must be under Aubreeโ€™s protection, Bryan thought. They wouldnโ€™t have stepped into the public spotlight unless she ordered it. Whatโ€™s her game?

Bryanโ€™s fingers tightened. Are the Berry family going to testify against Emery?

"But that doesnโ€™t add up," Bryan thought. โ€œAnthony was the one who embezzled the money. Even if they really investigate, at most, Anthony will take the fall. Rosepoly Group is already beyond saving, and thereโ€™s no way this could actually harm Emery.โ€

It was precisely because they knew Emery wouldnโ€™t actually go to jail over this that they werenโ€™t that panicked when he was taken away.

On the contrary, the Berry familyโ€™s testimony would only serve to clear Emery.

Bryan couldnโ€™t make sense of it as his car pulled up to the police station, where crowds of reporters swarmed the entrance, clearly waiting for the Berry family to emerge.

Bryan stayed in the car, instructing his secretary to park in an inconspicuous spot where he could observe from a distance.

Unable to decipher Aubreeโ€™s intentions, Bryan dared not act rashly. He could only wait in the car to see how events would unfold.

After what felt like an eternity, the Berry family finally emerged from the police station, with Emery walking out alongside them.

โ€œEmeryโ€™s out?โ€ Bryan wondered, surprised.

Watching this, Bryan grew even more confused about Aubreeโ€™s endgame. As far as he could tell, all her actions were meant to retaliate against their family, collaborating with Anthony to put Emery behind bars.

โ€œWhatโ€™s going on now?" Frowning, Bryan sent the latest update to Ronald.

Ronald replied almost immediately.

Ronald: "Whatโ€™s so hard to understand? Aubreeโ€™s still young and inexperienced in business. She probably thought the Berry family testimony would be enough to implicate Emery, not realizing the investigation would show he wasnโ€™t primarily responsible."
