Chapter 16

Their words caused a flicker of movement in Rowan’s eyes. He lifted the corner of his mouth, saying with a smirk, "Don’t be too jealous. After all, if you wanted to be wild, you wouldn’t be able to find anyone to indulge you."

Joseph blinked. He wasn’t pleased. "What do you mean I can’t find anyone? If I wanted to, I could have plenty of women, I just don’t want to."

"Is that so?" Rowan asked as he began to walk toward the door, his tone casual. "The girl from the Brooks family, you don’t want her either? Well, in that case, you don’t need to know any news about her."

Joseph’s expression immediately changed. He jumped up and rushed to Rowan’s side. "Rowan, do you have news about Janie?"

Rowan turned his head to look at him. "What? Didn’t you say you didn’t want her? Why would you want to know her news?"

Joseph’s eyes brightened. He realized that Rowan truly had news about her. "I do want to! I really do! Rowan, please, tell me where she is," he said quickly, his voice almost pleading.

Rowan had already reached the door, and he glanced back at him. "Are you being wild or not?"

Without hesitation, Joseph answered, "I am!" He spoke sincerely. "I’m wild! I’m the wildest!"

Rowan scoffed quietly. "Head to Harbor City and look for her."

Joseph’s eyes flickered. "Thanks, Rowan!" He left without wasting a second.

On the couch, Connor just stared, dumbfounded. He thought for a moment, a little doubtful. "Is she really in Harbor City?"

Rowan nodded. "Yeah, I got the news as soon as she arrived this afternoon." Then, as he watched Joseph rush to the elevator, Rowan pursed his lips. "But I heard she already has a boyfriend. She went to Harbor City with him."

Connor frowned. "Then what about Joseph?"

Rowan narrowed his eyes slightly and said calmly, "If he can win her back, that’s his skill. If not, he’ll have to face reality. After all, he’s the one who pushed her away in the first place. He can’t blame anyone else."

After saying that, Rowan didn’t bring up the matter again. He turned to Connor and said, "Sit tight. I’ll go downstairs and pack up Stella’s things." Connor sighed lightly and nodded. "Alright, go ahead."

Rowan went downstairs to help Stella pack her clothes. As soon as he opened the door, Felix rushed over. Seeing him, Felix meowed and rubbed against his legs, purring for attention. Rowan looked down at the cat and bent over to rub its head, speaking softly, "Why are you so mean to Stella?" Felix didn’t respond but nudged its head against his palm.

Rowan sighed lightly and patted its head. "No use trying to be cute with me. I’ll have someone come and clip your claws tomorrow." After saying that, he stood up and walked past Felix, heading straight for the bedroom. Felix followed him obediently.

This was Rowan’s apartment, and he knew the layout well. He opened the door to the master bedroom and switched on the light, raising an eyebrow. In just over a month, Stella had transformed the master bedroom into a soft, pastel-colored haven. She really was like a princess, he thought.

He didn’t linger, heading straight into the walk-in closet. Stella didn’t have many clothes. After all, she hadn’t been living here long, and she had left home with nothing. She had bought each piece over the past month, carefully saving all her money for the high-end outfit she wore that day.

Looking at the few dresses in the closet, he frowned. Stella had always loved to look beautiful, and in the past, he had never seen her wear the same outfit twice. But thinking back, in the few times he had seen her this past month, she did seem to favor a few outfits. He didn’t bother with the dresses, instead choosing a nightgown for her.
