Chapter 94

“My last noble could possibly cause me?” I gave a helpless smile. “But what about you guys? Has Mr. Ford Senior given you any problems?!”

“Nah, it seems Jocsiban gave them a heads-up, so they’ve dropped it.”

Frederick suddenly went quiet for a moment.

After a pause, he quietly asked, “Jenation wouldn’t help us without a reason. Are you really okay over there?”

I wondered why he asked that. “Do you honestly think Jonathan would do something to me?”

Silence fell again.

Because I remembered I rejected Jonathan almost. I rejected him just now and made it clear I wasn’t interested. He probably got angry afterward, so he just ignored me and stayed by Alicia’s side.

We’ve fallen out so badly, and yet he still thought about being intimate with me. Men really were beyond anything I can imagine.

After those few words, we had nothing to say to each other.

Finally, Frederick asked, “How’s the injury on your arm?”

It wasn’t just Jonathan who noticed. It caught his attention, too.

“It’s nothing. It’s already bandaged up.”

After a long silence, Frederick asked, “Do you want us to come see you?”

I was surprised. “Are you able to move around freely now?”

There was no way this would end so easily.

I thought they’d be stuck at the Zimmer residence for at least a few days; judging by how angry Elwand looked, there was no way…

Arta sounded slightly annoyed, muttering, “We really have to thank Jonathan this time. He stepped in personally to make sure the Zimmers don’t press charges.”

“Does Mr. Ford Senior even listen to him?” I raised an eyebrow. “Alicia’s face was completely scratched up, you know.”

Arta also found it unbelievable. “I never expected this. I thought my brother and I were done, but Jonathan let us go.”

I said, “Maybe your parents talked to him. After all, they still have projects to work on together. It wouldn’t do to make a big fuss.”

Aria grumbled, “Then why did it seem like such a big deal before? They insisted on holding me back. Once Jonathan spoke up, they just let us go.”

“Ultimately, the Zimmers still completely bend to the Ford family’s wishes.”

She kept chattering on and on, but my head started spinning. Her words sounded far away and hard to catch clearly.

I shook my head slightly, my voice feeling light and distant. “I’m a bit tired. I’ll rest for a while first. We can talk about everything tomorrow.”

Frederick caught the strain in my voice. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?!”

I shook my head. “It isn’t anything serious. I’m probably just tired.”

He sounded concerned, then said, “I’m at the Ford residence now. If anything, I’ll contact you to discuss what…”

After saying that,

A few steps later, my head suddenly felt dizzy.

I held onto the trashy table immediately, and a sharp pain stabbed through my head.

Just as I was about to call for help, the pain vanished suddenly, replaced by a piercing ringing in my ears.

I howled, gripping my head tightly, confused about why it hurt so badly.

My injury was on my arm, not my head.

Even when I was at my lowest and intended to end my life, people said I had slit my wrist. I had a big wound there, too, but after the stitches, it slowly went numb and didn’t hurt so much. Instead, my head ached intensely.

Could the aftereffects of the wound somehow be affecting my brain?
