Chapter 58

“Cameron,” Quinn called, her voice slurred. “My body is burning.” She couldn’t hear him through the haze of alcohol; all she felt was unbearable heat. It felt as though her dress were on fire.

Her hands fumbled at the fabric, desperately tugging. The zipper was stuck at the back. Flushed with embarrassment and frustration, she felt sweat forming.

“Help me unzip it…” she gasped, unable to manage it alone. She had no choice but to ask Cameron for help.

Cameron noticed her pained expression and blushed slightly. “Are you sure?”

“Quick,” she mumbled, grabbing his hand and pulling it toward her in her drunken state.

A smirk played on Cameron’s lips as he placed his palm against her back, easily sliding her dress down.

Quinn had no idea how she ended up in bed. When she woke, her whole body ached, and she was completely naked. The strangest part? She was in the master bedroom of the presidential suite. What had happened? Why was she in Cameron’s bed?

Fleeting memories surfaced. She’d been drinking with Jeremy… then what? Why was she here?

Her head throbbed as she looked around the bed, realizing there wasn’t a single item of clothing in sight. Could it be that Cameron had taken advantage of her while she was drunk?

The thought ignited a fire of anger. How could he? A powerful CEO, a world-renowned tycoon, would stoop so low?

Clenching her jaw, she resolved to confront him. After wrapping a blanket around herself, she tiptoed onto the soft carpet. She was about to leave when the door opened.

Cameron walked in, his tall figure filling the doorway. He hadn’t expected her to be awake, and his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of her bundled like a caterpillar. That surprise quickly shifted to a knowing smile, and his gaze traveled up and down her form.

Quinn was barefoot, her delicate toes exposed, catching his eye. Self-conscious, she awkwardly placed one foot atop the other, gently rubbing them together.

“You’re awake?” he asked, breaking the heavy silence.

Indignation bubbled inside her, ready to erupt. But as their eyes met, her resolve weakened. She lacked the courage to confront him. Nodding, she bit her lip, still wanting answers. Lifting her chin, she met his gaze. “What happened to my clothes last night?” she asked.
