Debra folded her arms. “He didn’t let you take over because he’d already decided to align with the Eaton family. Looks like you were just unlucky.”

Debra studied her expression. “How can I trust you again?”

Lara froze. “I’ll do anything to prove myself to you. Anything.”

“Alright,” Debra said. “If you want me to trust you, then go back to Drake. Whatever you say or do from now on is up to you. If he keeps you and stops doubting you, then I’ll believe you.”

Lara was stunned, and Debra pressed, “Why? Can’t do it? You know better than anyone how suspicious Drake is. If he doesn’t trust you, then what’s the point of me trusting you?
