Chapter 594
Debra yelped as the hot pot burned her hand. The sharp pain made her gasp, and she quickly grabbed her earlobes to cool down.
โWhat happened?โ
Juan rushed into the kitchen, immediately noticing her hand. Without hesitation, he took hold of it and pulled her over to the sink to run it under cold water.
She glanced at Juan and then down at his hand. Realizing how forward heโd been, Juan awkwardly let go.
โUh, you can take care of it.โ
Debra continued rinsing her hand, unfazed by his sudden withdrawal.
Juan, still flustered, said, โIโll get you some ointment.โ
He hurried out of the kitchen, heading to the living room in search of a first-aid kit.
From the kitchen, Debra called out, โIf you canโt find it, donโt worry about it.โ
As expected, there wasnโt any burn cream in the kit. Juan frowned, but Debra wasnโt bothered. She walked back into the kitchen, grabbed a tube of toothpaste, and began applying it to the burn. Juan reentered the room just in time to see it.
โWhat are you doing?โ
โToothpaste works for burns too. No need for ointment.โ
Juan stared at the tube in disbelief. He had never heard of that. Then again, he wasnโt exactly the type to deal with minor household issues. Debra had probably expected as much and mentally prepared herself for playing the full-time housekeeper role during this filming.
โAll right. If you donโt mind, could you keep an eye on the stove? Iโll be right back.โ
โSure.โ
Juan nodded, still keeping an eye on her burned hand. The moment he stepped out of the kitchen, he called Joe.
โHave the crew get some ointment delivered. Debra burned her hand.โ
โRight away, sir.โ
As Debra emerged from the bathroom, Juan added, โTell them to hurry up. It must be delivered within twenty minutes.โ
โGot it.โ
Debra noticed Juan acting suspiciously. She furrowed her brow and asked, โWhat are you doing?โ
โNothing.โ Juan replied, putting away his phone with a nonchalant expression.
Chapter 594
Debra found his behavior odd but didnโt dwell on it. Her sole focus was to finish her tasks quickly and end her duties as a caretaker for the day.
Twenty minutes later, she heard the doorbell ring. She walked to the door and opened it to find a delivery person standing outside. The delivery person swiftly handed her a tube of ointment and rushed off.
โHey!โ Debra tried to call out, but the delivery person was already gone.
She looked down at the ointment in her hand and then at Juan, who was busy tidying up the table in the living room.
โDid you buy this for me?โ she asked.
This island seemed nice, but the delivery service couldnโt be this efficient. It had only been ten minutes. She wondered if it was prepared by the production team.
โIโm not sure. Itโs maybe the production team,โ Juan offered a reasonable explanation.
Debra nodded. โThey are quite thoughtful.โ
A faint smile appeared on Juanโs face.
โToothpaste is just a folk remedy; it wonโt be as effective as proper medication. Can you apply it yourself?โ he asked.
โYes,โ Debra replied, sitting down on the sofa and applying the ointment to her finger.
From a distance, Juan watched her silently and then brought the pot to the table.
