Chapter 444
โMarionโฆโ Debra murmured, blushing.
Marion closed the door and whispered, โSo, this was the show you wanted to see.โ
โAre you upset about it?โ Debraโs eyes, usually so full of life, now held a spark of naive guilt. โI didnโt expect you to come.โ She had only intended to bring Erica; she hadnโt anticipated Randyโs presence, nor that they would tell Marion.
Marion stroked her cheek. โSo, you didnโt plan to tell me from the start?โ
โI was afraidโฆโ Debra began, but his intense gaze silenced her.
Marion croaked, โAfraid Iโd be jealous?โ
Debra managed a small, almost imperceptible nod. She was too entangled with the Nichols family; legally, without a divorce, she was still Juanโs wife.
โIโm not so petty,โ he said, pinching her cheek. He murmured a warning, โDealing with the Nichols family is fine, but if you dare rekindle old feelings with himโฆโ
โIt wonโt happen,โ Debra interjected, her voice filled with sincerity. โI donโt have old feelings for him.โ
Marion finally smiled, his features softening. He leaned down, kissing her forehead. Then he reached out and flicked on the living room lights. The sudden brightness was jarring, snapping Debra back to reality. Her flushed face looked unusually endearing to Marion.
โI-Iโll get you a glass of water,โ Debra stammered, attempting to escape to the living room to compose herself.
But Marion had other plans. He pulled her into his arms, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss at the entrance.
Debra melted into his embrace, feeling unreal. As their lips met, Marionโs breath grew ragged. The kiss deepened, his hands instinctively finding their way around her waist. Eventually, he lifted her into his arms.
Debra instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. โWhat are you thinking?โ
Marionโs voice was hoarse with desire. โTaking you to bed.โ
He carried her to the bedroom, struggling to control his rising desire. The dim light created an intimate atmosphere.
Debra blushed, her voice barely audible. โI have a guest room.โ
Marion paused, then nodded. โOkay.โ
As he was about to leave, Debra reached out, her fingers grasping the corner of his shirt. She hesitated, her words tumbling out. โGiven our relationship, isnโt it a bit distant for you to sleep in the guest room?โ
Marionโs eyes sparkled with amusement, and Debraโs face turned an even deeper shade of red.
โThatโs not what I meant,โ she stammered. โI just think my bed is bigger, and weโd fit comfortably.โ
Her words only made things worse. She wished she could disappear.
Marion simply smiled, taking off his jacket and hanging it up. Then he began to unbutton his shirt. Under the soft light, his abs were visible, casting a spell over Debra. She felt her face heating up and prepared to look away, but Marionโs voice stopped her.
โDo you have a bathrobe?โ
