Chapter 390
โYes, Ms. Frazier,โ replied the butler. Debraโs voice rang out clearly, reaching the ears of those inside the room. Eveโs face instantly flushed red, and Freya frowned, wondering if Debra really had great patience.
All of Debraโs luggage had been meticulously checked by the staff. Once everything was confirmed to be in order, the butler nodded satisfactorily.
โMs. Frazier, you will be staying here for a while. During this time, you canโt go out. Youโll need to follow the training schedule. Donโt worry; the trainee life wonโt last long.โ
โI see.โ
With the gossip about her and JJuan swirling outside, this place seemed like a perfect retreat for her to enjoy some much-needed peace.
โIโll leave now. If you need anything, just call me.โ
โAlright.โ
After the butler and his team left, the bell in the room rang sharply. She knew what that signified; Hannah had told her about it.
At the call of emergency assembly, the trainees next door rushed out of their rooms almost instinctively. Soon, the boys and girls stood separately on the training ground.
โOscar, slow down.โ Tomas Conrad finally made it to the field, panting heavily.
The female trainees trained on schedule every day, and their leaders never required them to work overtime. However, Oscar Harper was different. He made them run laps before dawn, and after running ten laps, they had to run another fifteen, according to the training agenda.
โI mean, even if a beautiful girl joins today, you donโt have to be this excited, do you?โ Tomas teased.
Someone beside him chuckled, โTomas, stop making up stories about Oscar. When has he ever paid attention to beautiful girls? Heโs totally a celibate type.โ
Tomas laughed, โI get it. Oscar is steel and would neverโฆโ
Before he could finish, his gaze turned toward Debra. โLook! Thatโs the new trainee. Wow! She looks so much better than in the photos.โ
Oscar also looked over but showed little interest. Debra was wearing the trainee uniform; her proportions were perfect. The belt accentuated her shape well. Even without makeup, her face was flawless.
The male coach whistled sharply. โWhat are you looking at? I see youโre not tired enough. Run another twenty laps. No breakfast until you finish.โ
Tomas groaned in despair, but Oscar had already started leading the team.
For the girls, Debra stood in the front row. The female coach was Hannah, her eyes scanning the group.
โThe boys run nearly thirty laps every day. Weโre running less than half of that. From today on, youโll run the same laps. Only after that can you eat. Got it?โ
โYes, maโam!โ
Hannah stood in place, and Freya led the run. Debra had a morning exercise routine for a long time, so running wasnโt a big deal for her. However, running thirty laps would be an ordeal.
Hannah shouted, โListen up. In the future, when you have schedules, youโll be racing against time every day. Youโll see that thirty laps of running is nothing.โ
Eve grumbled under her breath, โYouโre the one to talk. Do you dare to come and run?โ
Ashley hushed her. โShh. Keep it down, or youโll be punished again.โ
She was dissatisfied too, but they had no choice. Debra led the way, her stride steady and confident. After ten laps, the others were visibly exhausted. Debra, however, maintained a steady pace, her breathing even and controlled. Even Freya couldnโt help but steal glances at her.
When Freya first joined, she would have collapsed after ten laps, but Debra was still energetic. Debra gave them a casual glance. Her strong physique wasnโt built overnight; it was the result of consistent routines and disciplined habits from her past.
The thirty grueling laps took a full hour. Everyone lay on the ground, utterly drained. Debra struggled to steady her breath, her heart pounding in her chest. Thirty laps were a challenge, even for her.
โGood job! You can go eat now,โ Hannah announced. โDebra, stay.โ
The boys, who had finished their training earlier, watched with curiosity. Tomas nudged Oscar and said, โLook! Why is Debra the only one left behind?โ
Another guy chimed in, โI heard she got in through connections. Isnโt this an obvious privilege?โ
Tomas complained, โWe all worked hard to get here, and she just walked in. Itโs all because of her looks and her rich husband.โ
That guy disagreed. โNo. She is about to divorce her CEO husband. She must have another wealthy backer.โ
โWhat? Thatโs crazy!โ Tomas gasped.
Oscar, uninterested in the gossip, stood up and addressed the group. โI think youโre all too idle.โ
โWeโve had enough rest. Ready to eat now,โ Tomas said, quickly standing up. โEnough gossip, guys. Get up, and letโs go have breakfast.โ
โLetโs go.โ
The group quickly dispersed. Hannah handed Debra a set of documents. โIโve arranged a special nutrition meal for you with a nutritionist, and Mr. Andrew Potter wants to assign you a personal chef.โ โPersonal chef?โ Debra muttered.
It was clear that Andrew was stirring things up. Signing her into the program halfway, arranging the grand move, and now assigning a nutritionist. Andrewโs intentions were becoming increasingly evident. He wasnโt just giving her privilege; he was setting her up.
โWhatโs Mr. Andrew Potterโs real intention? To make me the public enemy?โ
โDonโt misunderstand; he is just giving you special attention.โ
โDo you believe that?โ
She was dealing with a seasoned schemer, but she was no less sophisticated. The only downside was that she was on Andrewโs turf and at their mercy.
โDonโt go overboard. Iโll do whatever he wants without extra fuss.โ
โIโm just following orders. Ms. Frazier, please follow me.โ
Hannah led the way, likely to a privileged area. Inside the staff cafeteria, an array of exquisite breakfast options awaited them.
