Chapter 334 + 25 BONUS
Debra looked at Andrew, asking, โMr. Andrew Potter, are you suffering from depreโฆโ Before she could finish, Andrew wrinkled his brows, a silent warning that made Debra swallow her words. She couldnโt reveal his secret to his face. His severe depression was likely his most closely guarded secret. If news of his mental illness spread while he was at the helm of the Potter family, it would be exploited mercilessly. Those vying for power within the family would seize the opportunity to employ underhanded tactics.
Debra opted for a more indirect approach. โMr. Andrew Potter, taking medicine alone wonโt solve the problem. Why not find the root of your issue and resolve it completely?โ
โThank you for your suggestion,โ Andrew said blandly, turning to the butler. โSee Ms. Frazier out.โ
โYes, sir,โ the butler replied, his voice trembling slightly. It was the first time he had witnessed someone speak so candidly to Andrew. He had half-expected a storm to brew, but Andrew remained calm.
As Debra followed the butler out, she couldnโt help but marvel at the sprawling estate. The sheer enormity of it was breathtaking. She wondered how Andrew managed to bear the weight of such a massive family.
Under the canopy on the rooftop, Marion leaned against the wall, his gaze thoughtful.
โSevere depression, huh? I didnโt even notice it, but she did,โ he mused. His expression radiated pride, as if saying, โMy woman, isnโt she impressive?โ He looked at Andrew, concern etched on his face. โIโm your buddy. Shouldnโt you tell me why youโre depressed?โ
It couldnโt be just the burden of family affairs. While the daily responsibilities might be overwhelming to others, someone as extraordinary as Andrew would handle them with ease. It couldnโt be about his legs, either. Andrew wouldnโt be bothered by his physical limitations. Marion could not figure out the cause.
Andrew remained composed. โInstead of discussing my condition, how about discussing how to persuade her not to take action against the Nichols family?โ
โYou donโt have to dissuade her,โ Marion shrugged. โEven if she creates a mess in Seamar City, Iโll cover for her.โ
After a long silence, Andrew said, โYouโve fallen for her.โ It wasnโt a question but a statement of fact.
โYep.โ
โDonโt forget why you came to Seamar City.โ
โThat doesnโt conflict with anything.โ

โI mean, what if she finds out that you initially approached her for Juan?โ The smile vanished from Marionโs face, and Andrew added, โSheโs not a woman whoโll willingly be used. Youโd better be clear with her. The longer you wait, the more dangerous it gets.โ
โSheโll never know,โ Marion stated firmly. โYou just worry about your own matters. Be careful; one day, your depression might make you jump off a building.โ
With that, he turned and left. Andrew watched Debra leave with the butler, his eyes deep and contemplative. โThe root of my issue?โ He glanced at his crippled legs, a self-deprecating smile playing on his lips. That was something he could never speak of.
