Debra remembered the ring she had taken from Melody’s hidden stash. At the time, she had noticed the ring was valuable but hadn’t thought much deeper about it. Now, there might be a connection to it.

Erica said, “That gemstone is valuable. It could be an heirloom of the Potter family. You should ask Jordan about it. Find out where it came from.”

Debra shook her head. “I want to, but all of Jordan’s accounts have been deactivated. No one can get in touch with him now.”

‘Except for Andrew.’ The thought of him made her feel regretful. He hadn’t stayed to celebrate the wedding.

“By the way, where is Andrew’s gift?” Erica asked, looking at Randy and Garland. They had been receiving gifts that day.

Garland pointed to a folder nearby. “These are gifts, right? I thought it was just a list of dowry items.”

“What? You looked through them?”

“No. But the stack of papers was thick. I could tell just by touching it.”

Garland grabbed the folder and handed it to Debra. Debra felt the contents. It was all paper. Opening the folder, she found a thick stack of contracts: a share transfer agreement, an insurance contract, and, at the bottom, a key.

Erica nodded. “I know this. This insurance company is where the rich store their vaults. My family keeps a lot of things there. We pay over a million dollars in storage fees every year. Its security is as good as that of the national treasury.”

Randy looked at the contracts, his jaw nearly dropping. “My God! There are the Potter family’s land deeds, shares from their most profitable companies, project transfer agreements, and even property deeds. What’s going on? Is this a transfer of assets?”

Liza was stunned. “How much are they worth?”

“An amount you can’t even imagine,” Erica muttered, equally shocked.

But what really struck her was the share transfer agreement. It stated that Andrew was transferring 10% of the Potter Group’s shares to Debra.

“This is too valuable. I can’t accept this,” Debra said, putting everything back into the folder.

Sitting nearby, Marion silently pondered the situation.

“Just take it,” Marion suddenly chimed in. “Knowing his temperament, he won’t take it back.”

Debra stared at the envelope and lost herself in thought.
