Listen to this chapter:

It was a slow, gentle knock on the door, and Holter’s eyes lit up.

“It’s Alarieka, go open the door.”

The others in the private room looked at him suspiciously: “There are so many brothers outside, how did you know this was Alarieka?”

Holter’s voice suddenly caught, not knowing what to say. Even he himself didn’t realize it, he already knew a lot about Alarieka.

Holter deliberately frowned: “Doesn’t matter, you guys go open the door.”

After Alarieka walked into the room, she looked around but didn’t see Kieran or Roschelle. She walked over calmly and stood in front of Holter.

Holter handed her the dress, and the smile on his face almost screamed to everyone that he was up to no good.

“Alarieka, happy birthday,” Holter said. “The birthday party was about to start soon, hurry up and change so I can see.”

Alarieka took it and said softly, “Thank you.” She didn’t say anything else, took the dress, and turned to leave.

Holter watched her walk away so decisively, then suddenly got hesitant and felt a bit inexplicably flustered. He even had the urge to call Alarieka back, and deep down he even wondered if he was being too harsh.

His friend next to him laughed happily and put an arm around his shoulder: “Holter, this time, we’ve got a good show to watch.”

Holter opened his mouth, looking a bit hesitant on his face: “I…”

A friend just patted him on the shoulder and said, “Holter, don’t tell me you regret it now. Things have gotten this far, and we’re all waiting to see the show.”

Holter lowered his head a little. “I just…”

“Alright,” his friend interrupted him impatiently, “did you forget about Alarieka beating up Rissa and Rose in the hospital? A woman like that isn’t worth your sympathy, so don’t act all saintly.”

A trace of struggle flashed in Holter’s eyes, but finally calmed down. Yeah, he didn’t forget what Alarieka did in the hospital–she hit Roschelle and Clarissa. Even if Alarieka really was his sister, she still had no right to offend Roschelle. Roschelle was the woman he kept in his heart for many years. Even if Roschelle liked Kieran, he still liked Roschelle anyway, just liked and protected her quietly. How did Alarieka dare to hit Roschelle?

Holter thought about it and then sat on the couch, feeling at ease, waiting. He just hoped that after this, Alarieka would realize she made a mistake and try to fix her bad temper in the future. As long as Alarieka knew she was wrong, he could also say some good things about her in front of Grandpa and let Alarieka go back to the Argent’s villa.

After Alarieka changed clothes, she was taken to the rooftop by a waiter from Octember Club. It was packed with people, lights flashing, drinks flowing, and guys and girls all mixed together, chatting away. After she showed up on the top floor, the sounds around suddenly stopped.

Holter only knew Alarieka was here when his friend tapped him on the shoulder. He looked up. This look, though, just made him freeze.

She was very pretty. This dress was something he carefully picked out at a luxury store, and both the quality and the fit were pretty good. When he picked it, he totally didn’t expect Alarieka would dress up so nicely. It was unexpectedly pretty. Because it was a one-shoulder design, the girl’s slim shoulders seemed to glow softly. The silky, smooth fabric slid down along her beautiful curves, showing off her tiny waist. The fabric fell to the floor, and the high slit in the skirt showed glimpses of her long legs.

Alarieka had a bright, pretty face, with a slight smile, looking at everyone. It looked amazing to everyone. It wasn’t hard to imagine what Alarieka would look like in a few years—she’d only get more stunning.

The voices in the crowd went silent for a few seconds. Alarieka said softly, “Have you been waiting long?”

Holter blinked and walked up, looking as gentle as usual: “No, you got here just in time.”

Alarieka smiled, “Good thing you didn’t wait long.”

Looking at Alarieka’s calm and innocent look, Holter’s hesitation and regret got clearer and clearer. He opened his mouth, and the next second, someone behind him poked his shoulder.

“Alarieka, everyone was waiting for you to get on stage, hurry up and go.” The people who came in had hippie clothes and grinned cheekily, all their scheming written in their eyes, as if they were afraid Alarieka wouldn’t know about their little plot.

She pretended she didn’t know anything, winked playfully, and said, “Okay, I’ll go up now.” She just turned around, showing a large area of smooth white skin on her back.
