Chapter 233

“You needed to know, even if you didn’t want to cooperate with me, as long as I put the video online, public opinion would turn in my favor. By then, I wouldn’t get hurt at all. I was giving you a chance, not myself.”

“Do you want to keep being used by others, end up in the police station, and risk ruining your reputation, or tell me who helped you and I’ll let you go? Think carefully about your choice. Don’t pick a road you can’t come back from.”

Sammy’s eyes changed, and he slowly lowered his head.

Alarieka sat on the couch in the room, lifted her chin a bit, and said gently, “I have time to wait for you to think, take your time, no rush, answer me after you figure it out.”

She sat on the couch and closed her eyes.

A lot happened these past few days, and she put in all her energy to deal with it every day. She was really a bit tired.

After hearing what Alarieka said, Sammy already had a cold sweat on his back.

Everything he did these past two days was after careful thought. He got into the venue today just like he and that guy had planned. Nothing went wrong. He got into the performance room smoothly and made trouble during Alarieka’s performance.

Actually, he had already gotten a camera ready, planning to film the whole thing of him making trouble and Alarieka playing, so he could post it online later.

He thought that, based on Alarieka’s performance in the prelims, her video for the semifinals plus his own loud accusations were enough to prove she only got into the semifinals through connections.

But he really didn’t expect that Alarieka actually did have the level to make it to the semifinals.

Alarieka’s level actually already reached this point?

How could Alarieka have this kind of level?

The biggest variable was Alarieka’s sudden level change.

All his plans were based on the assumption that Alarieka’s piano skills were poor.

Sammy gritted his teeth. He really thought Alarieka got into the semifinals because of connections, not because of her own ability.

He hadn’t had time to get the camera that was still in the studio, so he didn’t see what Alarieka did after he was pulled away by security.

The video Alarieka showed him was no doubt a slap right in his face.

Did he really misjudge Alarieka?

Impossible, during the preliminaries, he watched Alarieka’s performance from start to finish, and there’s no way Alarieka could be as good as in the video, absolutely impossible.

Sammy’s eyes flickered.

By the way, who knows, maybe the video Alarieka showed him was dubbed later, and the piano sound in the video wasn’t even played by Alarieka.

Thinking like that, Sammy immediately felt relieved.

It had to be like this, Alarieka’s level couldn’t have gotten better overnight, he must have been tricking him.

Sammy’s eyes darkened.

He didn’t expect Alarieka to be so scheming, he almost got tricked by her. Good thing.

All of a sudden, looking at the camera Alarieka was holding, Sammy’s mind just stopped.

A few minutes went by, and Sammy didn’t say anything. The look on Sammy’s face might have shown that Sammy didn’t believe her or didn’t want to accept her opinion, but Alarieka wasn’t in a hurry.

She believed Sammy would be smart for once and make the right choice.

The door to the room was suddenly opened from outside, and a security guard walked in, handing the camera in his hand to Alarieka.

Alarieka smiled. “Thanks.”

Sammy looked at the familiar camera, and his mind went blank for a second: “How did the camera end up here?”

Alarieka raised an eyebrow, “You mean this?”

Actually, when she was on stage, she noticed Sammy seemed to put something in the corner. She guessed it was a camera, and it turned out she was right.

So before she came, she asked the security team to look for it.

Sure enough, Sammy still didn’t have time to get the camera.

Sammy watched Alarieka press a button on the camera and got really mad: “Alarieka, don’t even think about deleting the video, the video already synced to my computer, it’s no use even if you delete it, and there’s no voiceover from you in it!”

Alarieka looked up and sneered, “Who said I was gonna delete it?”

Sammy glared angrily, breathing heavily, “What did you want to do?”

Alarieka raised the camera in her hand. “With this, you won’t still think it’s dubbed later, right?”

Sammy didn’t say anything.

Alarieka put the camera in front of Sammy, and the full video started playing.

A few minutes later, Sammy looked as pale as dirt.

The videos in the camera didn’t have any voice-over added later, they were shot for real, nothing was changed.

So, Alarieka really was that good.

So, he really misjudged Alarieka.

He really suspected wrong. Alarieka really didn’t pull any strings. Alarieka got into the semifinals fair and square.

It was him… who saw it wrong.

Alarieka said softly, “Take a good look, and if you still have questions, just look again.”

Sammy slowly lowered his head.

A moment later, she heard Sammy say in a hoarse voice, “I’ll take the second one.”

Slowly, Alarieka had a bit of a smile in her eyes: “Okay.”

Sammy’s voice was low and hoarse: “Yeah… Roschelle helped me get in.”

Alarieka’s eyes flashed.

She actually guessed it a long time ago, just didn’t have any proof.

She was racking her brains here just to gather evidence.

So she said, “Is there any proof it was her?”

Sammy said hoarsely, “I had a recording at the time.”
