Listen to this chapter:

Everyone knew who it was talking about. It was that championship favorite, Roschelle.

Everyone shook their heads, and except for the next contestant, the rest went back to the waiting room. Alaricka walked into the waiting room and looked up to see Kieran and the other two. Kieran looked over with a calm gaze, his eyes cold and dark. He only paused on her for less than half a second before looking away, like he was seeing a stranger. Alarieka also quickly looked away, turned around without changing her expression, and walked toward the door leading to the outer hall.

Behind me, Roschelle’s voice suddenly came through. “Alarieka, I haven’t congratulated you yet. You played really well. Getting into the finals shouldn’t be a problem.”

Alarieka stopped walking and turned her head to look at her. Roschelle just sat next to Kieran, her soft arm wrapped around his. When she looked over, she even tightened her grip, pulling herself closer to Kieran. Alarieka looked at the person to the right of Roschelle. Marlene didn’t even look at her, her face was super cold, like she didn’t even exist.

Alaricka pulled at the corner of her mouth and said in a steady voice, “It’s too early to say that.”

After saying that, she was about to leave, but Roschelle was still saying, “You better not go out yet, Sammy’s still outside. If he sees you, he’ll make a scene again.”

What Roschelle said kind of, sort of blamed Sammy’s trouble on her.

Alarieka chuckled and said, “If you don’t go out and look, how do you know who let him in?”

The people following behind Alarieka looked different. It really was like Alarieka said, we should’ve looked into it.

The Mcintosh Piano Competition was a high–level and prestigious contest. To make sure everything went smoothly, the organizers put security guards on both floors of the hotel they booked. This was also to watch out for and stop outsiders from coming in. Normally, the eliminated contestants were the ones security needed to watch out for, and there was no way they should let any eliminated contestant back in. Because since the Mcintosh Piano Competition started, it wasn’t like there hadn’t been cases where eliminated contestants came back to the stage and caused trouble. So, Sammy, as someone who was already eliminated, wasn’t supposed to be allowed back into the competition area, but he came in anyway, and he did it without the security team noticing.

Everyone who came in needed the security team to check their ID. How did Sammy get past the security check? Or did he come in through another way? Was there anyone helping him behind his back? None of it was certain.

Roschelle was quiet for a moment, then she said softly, “We really should look into it.”

Alarieka smiled and didn’t say anything else, just left. As soon as she went out, she saw a few security guards standing at the door of a room that was already closed. She walked over and said, “Sammy’s inside?”

A few security guards looked closely at her face, recognized who she was, and nodded: “Yeah, he’s inside. It’s really noisy. You better not go in.” Some of the things Sammy said were so much that even outsiders like them thought it was too much. Alarieka was slim and delicate, with a small face and fair skin. She wore loose clothes that just hung on her, making her look even thinner, like she could be blown away by the wind. The security guard still couldn’t bear it and didn’t want the little girl in front of him to hear what Sammy said.

Alarieka lowered her eyelids and smiled carelessly. Sammy’s half–hearted insults were nothing compared to the real malice and slander she’d faced before. She said softly, “It’s okay, I just wanted to ask him a few questions.”

The security guard saw she insisted, so he just opened the door and let her in.

The soundproofing in the six–star hotel room was really good. You couldn’t hear anything through the door. Only when you opened it did you realize how hysterical Sammy’s cursing was, like she was about to shout her lungs out. It hit you right in the eardrums.

“Fuck! Let go of me! Fuck. I’m gonna kill Alarieka!”

“Shit, useless Alarieka, your whole family should die a horrible death!”

That kind of insult made the security guard’s heart tremble. He couldn’t help but frown, “Ms. Huston, maybe you shouldn’t go in. The police will be here soon.”

The security guard looked at Alarieka and felt a jolt inside again. Even when facing this kind of insult, Alarieka’s expression didn’t change and stayed calm as usual. He looked at Alarieka and gave a slight smile: “It’s okay, don’t worry.”
