Chapter 218
She had a lot of ideas in her head.
Admit the mistake?
What mistake did she want to know about?
Was it wrong for her to prove her innocence?
If the person who did this was Roschelle…
No. Kieran and Patrick would never have had a chance to make Roschelle do something like that. They probably would have handled it themselves before Roschelle even said anything. Roschelle wouldn’t have needed to worry at all.
That was the difference between heaven and earth.
Alarieka knew the difference, so she felt even more powerless.
She clenched her fists: “So what do you want?”
Kieran didn’t answer right away, but turned his head a little and looked at the empty bowl on the coffee table.
His voice was a little hoarse: “Your flattery really worked.”
Alarieka had a sudden thought.
Kieran turned his head back, looking at her with cold eyes, his thin lips parted: “What a pity.”
Alarieka didn’t have time to think about Kieran’s words, and then saw Kieran raise his hand.
That gesture looked just like how Patrick was about to choke her just now.
Her pupils suddenly shrank, she stepped back, and her toes accidentally bumped into the corner of the sofa.
All of a sudden, she lost her balance, twisted her ankle, and the world spun around. She fell hard to the ground. Her hands reacted faster than her head and quickly grabbed the back of the sofa, so her forehead didn’t hit it.
Luckily, there was carpet on the floor in this room, so even if I fell, it didn’t hurt much.
Alarieka paused for a moment.
She remembered that just a moment ago, in a flash, she saw Kieran’s face didn’t change at all. He just calmly watched her fall, and didn’t look like he wanted to help at all.
Alarieka hadn’t even stood up yet when she saw out of the corner of her eye that Kieran walked over from the other end of the couch and stood in front of her.
Alarieka’s heart slowly lifted, and she slowly raised her hand to look at Kieran.
Kieran lowered his eyelids and looked down at her, then gave a short laugh, “That’s all the guts you’ve got, getting this scared.”
Alarieka’s face looked like she’d just been slapped, embarrassed.
She held onto the back of the sofa to get up from the floor, and Kieran’s cold, indifferent voice came from above her.
“I didn’t tell you to stand up.”
Alaricka’s face froze, and she frowned: “So what did you want to do?”
When she finished speaking, Alaricka still wanted to stand up. At least, she couldn’t let Kieran look down on her like that anymore.
Kieran suddenly moved, stepped closer, raised his hand, pressed her shoulder, and forced her to sit back down on the carpet.
Alarieka struggled a few times, but still couldn’t fight against Kieran, this 1.88–meter–tall guy’s strength.
Her breathing was a bit quick, head down, listening to Kieran’s husky voice.
“Alarieka, you’d better know when to stop. I didn’t have that much patience to watch you mess around.”
Alarieka’s heart skipped a beat, and she looked up at Kieran’s face.
The man lowered his head at that moment, going against the light shining down from above. His handsome face looked shadowy and hard to read, his dark eyes even deeper and harder to figure out, and his tone was cold.
“You knew what I was talking about.”
Of course Alarieka knew.
What Kieran wanted to say was just telling her not to “bully” Roschelle and “not to touch” Roschelle.
Don’t mess with the woman Kieran kept closest to his heart.
Alarieka heard herself say, “As long as you keep Roschelle away from me, she and I can get along.”
Kieran pulled his hand back, his expression didn’t change, and it was hard to tell if he actually listened to what she said.
Before leaving, Kieran said, “Alaricka, this was the last time. Next time, it won’t be this easy.”
Alaricka sat on the carpet and gripped it tightly.
The other side.
Roschelle half leaned against the headboard, watching Marlene bustling around, tucking in her blanket and bringing her tea and water. She really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
She smiled and said, “Mrs. Argent, I’m fine, I already saw a doctor at the hospital, the baby is fine too, everything’s good, don’t worry.”
Marlene poured the chicken soup from the thermos and handed it to Roschelle. Hearing that, she rolled her eyes at her helplessly.
“Well, you still had to take good care of yourself. You even fell into the water. I made this chicken soup for you at home. It cooked for two hours. The temperature was just right. Drink it quickly, don’t let it get cold.”
