Chapter 213
Patrick’s voice had his usual laughter and teasing: “Alaricka, you couldn’t mess with me, and you definitely couldn’t mess with Rose.”
“This time, this was what happened because you kept offending Rose again and again. If it happened again, it wouldn’t be this simple.”
“Trust me, Alaricka, you didn’t want to mess with me.”
Roschelle suddenly squeezed in from outside the crowd.
Because just a moment ago, Patrick stood up for Roschelle in a really protective way.
The people around automatically made a wide path for Roschelle, afraid to even brush against her.
Roschelle saw the mess in front of her, and she covered her mouth and screamed.
“Oh my god, what happened?”
Patrick saw her. He was anxious but couldn’t bring himself to get mad at her. His voice softened, with none of the firmness from before: “Why are you here? Didn’t I tell you to stay in your room?”
Roschelle stomped her foot anxiously, “If I wasn’t here, you’d just mess around and even hit people, and you hit Alaricka.”
Roschelle walked over, put both hands on Alaricka’s arm, and said softly, “Sorry Alaricka, Patrick was just too anxious because of me. Don’t blame him, blame me.”
“Come on, let me help you up first.”
Alaricka slowly closed her eyes and didn’t pay attention to Roschelle.
Roschelle looked downcast. “Alaricka, are you really mad?”
Alaricka closed her eyes, her mind was a mess, but she still analyzed things calmly.
Patrick had always been gentle and polite in front of others, and he never acted out like this or showed his dark side to people.
This time, someone must have said something in front of him and made him mad.
There was no one else except Roschelle.
It was just…
Alaricka slowly raised her hand and touched the spot where Patrick had grabbed her. Even though Patrick had let go, she could still feel where he’d squeezed her.
Patrick had a temper, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have one too.
So, everyone suddenly opened their eyes wide.
Alaricka suddenly stood up from the ground.
Alaricka moved so suddenly, Patrick didn’t even react.
Alaricka raised her hand and slapped Patrick hard across the face.
It was quiet all around, as silent as a chicken.
Alaricka used all her strength. Patrick’s head got knocked to the side, and there were even five finger marks on his face.
After that, Alaricka grabbed Patrick’s collar again and pulled his upper body down.
Her eyes were sharp and cold, and her tone was firm.
“What’s wrong? You guys also noticed the problem in the surveillance video, right? So you were just scared that I’d show the video to others, worried that they’d notice the problem too, right?”
Patrick gritted his teeth, suddenly turned his head, his face completely darkened, and stared hard at her: “Alaricka!”
Alaricka suddenly grabbed Patrick’s head and slammed her forehead hard against his.
She heard Patrick’s muffled groan.
It hurt a lot, really a lot, and bumping into Patrick made her dizzy, but she still insisted on finishing what she had to say.
“Patrick, I told you, I didn’t care how much you cared about Roschelle, I cared about myself.”
“Since you guys thought Roschelle was innocent, then what was wrong with me showing the surveillance video? You were in such a hurry to cover it up, you were just making it more obvious. Everyone could see it clearly.”
“You thought you could hide something?”
She raised her hand again, but this time Patrick grabbed her wrist.
Alaricka gave a cold smile, raised her other hand, and while Patrick wasn’t on guard, slapped him again with full force.
It was another really crisp and loud sound.
This time, Alaricka let go, stepped back a few steps, leaned against the wall, and looked at Patrick with a cold stare.
“Patrick, you had someone you wanted to protect, and I wanted to protect myself too.”
“Even a rabbit would bite when pushed, at worst—”
“We went down together.”
Patrick raised his hand, touched the spot where he’d been slapped, then touched his forehead where he’d been bumped. He looked up, his face dark, and stared at Alaricka.
Roschelle ran over with a worried look and held Patrick up: “Alaricka, no matter how anxious you are, you can’t hit people. Patrick didn’t mean to treat you like that.”
Patrick said in a calm voice, “Alaricka, you’re asking for death.”
Alaricka was still leaning against the wall and the floor, not moving.
She sneered, “If Mr. Schultz has any more tricks, just bring them on. I’ll take them.”
Patrick wiped his mouth, sneered and nodded, “Alright, alright, alright.”
He pushed Roschelle’s hand away, getting ready to step forward again.
Alaricka knew the crowd around had already made their choice. They were stepping back, not planning to stop it.
