Roschelle almost stared a hole in the door, feeling a bit nervous. When she saw Kieran walk in safe and sound, she finally let out a sigh of relief.
“What did Kier and Patrick say to you?”
Kieran sat on the edge of the bed and said calmly, “It’s nothing, just talking about work.”
Roschelle didn’t believe it: “Is it really necessary to go out just to talk about work? You never avoided me when you talked about work before.”
Kieran chuckled, “So smart?”
Roschelle stared at him: “Did Patrick hit you?”
Kieran said, “No.”
Roschelle stared at him for a few seconds and pouted. “Fine, if you don’t want to talk, then don’t.”
Roschelle smiled softly and rested her head on Kieran’s shoulder.
“Let’s just go back tonight. The semifinals are tomorrow. I just didn’t know when the police would come back.”
Kieran said, “It’s almost done, no need to rush.”
Roschelle was actually a bit worried.
She didn’t know if the cameras could clearly catch the process of her pulling Alaricka into the water.
Roschelle secretly gritted her teeth.
She was worried about the cameras back then, so when she did it, she was really careful and tried to fake being pulled down.
She was worried right now, wondering if the cops would notice her little moves.
Rather than letting the police find out, it was better for her to end the investigation herself.
This way, the police wouldn’t have found out the truth, and Alaricka would’ve always had to carry the blame for dragging her down.
After thinking it through, Roschelle quickly grabbed Kieran’s arm and said softly, “Kier, the next round is tomorrow. How about we just settle this privately? Alaricka has to compete tomorrow too.”
She frowned a little. “I’m worried Alaricka would miss the competition. She really cared about it.”
Kieran’s dark eyes were deep and hard to read, and Roschelle couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
So she went on, “Kier, maybe just let it go. Alaricka is still young, it’s normal for her to make mistakes. As adults, we should give her a chance to realize and fix her mistakes. No need to make a big deal out of it. Most importantly, Alaricka’s got exams in three or four months. Don’t let this affect her exams.”
Kieran said in a low voice, “You decide.”
Roschelle laughed, “Then I’ll call the police station now.”
Roschelle was just about to make a call when Alaricka’s call came in–it was for Kieran.
Chapter 207
Roschelle’s hand stopped on the call button and she looked at Kieran.
Kieran answered the phone, his voice low: “What is it?”
Alaricka said, “The police came back, come over and hear the result.”
When she finished talking, Alaricka just hung up the phone.
Since she was close, Roschelle could also hear the voice on the other end of the phone.
Her expression froze for a second, and a sudden feeling of panic rose in her heart.
“The cops are back? That was fast.”
Kieran put away his phone and said, “Let’s go take a look.”
The smile on Roschelle’s face froze: “Okay… okay, let’s go take a look.”
In the shared hospital room, it got really quiet again because the police showed up.
The police said seriously, “We already watched all the surveillance.”
Alaricka sat on the bed and handed two glasses of water to the two cops herself.
“Thanks for your hard work, let’s talk when they get here.”
The police took the cup, smiled and said, “Okay, let’s wait then.”
At this point, Alaricka didn’t need to look at the result anymore.
The police already figured it out, but they didn’t arrest her right away for intentional injury, and that said it all.
She was not guilty.
Chapter 207
Roschelle’s VIP room was a bit far from her room, so it took some time to get there.
Before the two of them came over, Alaricka got up to fetch some water.
Once her name was cleared, Alaricka felt a huge weight lift off her chest. Suddenly, she felt thirsty and downed a glass of water in one go. Now her cup was empty, but she was still thirsty, so she had to go get more water.
She had just walked out of the hospital room when she saw Kieran pushing Roschelle’s wheelchair over.
Roschelle sat comfortably in her wheelchair, holding a bright yellow amulet, looking up and saying something to Kieran.
Kieran held the wheelchair’s push handles with both hands, lowered his head a bit, and patiently listened to what Roschelle was saying, nodding from time to time and responding with a few words.
Alaricka quickly looked away, filled the cup with hot water, and then left.
The policewoman held out her phone screen: “We’ve already checked the security footage and made a copy. You guys can take a look.”
