Chapter 169

Patrick frowned even more, looked the woman up and down in disbelief, and still didn’t see anything bad on her clothes.

The woman stood at the bottom of the steps and smiled at Alarieka, looking relaxed and open: “Thanks, Alarieka, my hands felt really good today. I felt like I could probably get through the prelims.”

Alarieka said softly, “Congrats.”

Patrick looked at the woman’s cheerful back as she left, and his frown deepened.

“Alarieka, you didn’t mess with it?”

Next was Alarieka, and Alarieka already heard her name coming from the competition field.

She didn’t mean to get too involved with Patrick.

Alarieka stood up, looking calm, and said, “Your eyes are dirty, so everything you see is dirty.”

Patrick sat in his seat looking at her, and there was a flash of struggle in his eyes. Could it be that Alarieka really wasn’t the kind of person people talked about? Maybe he really misunderstood.

Alarieka lifted her foot to leave.

Patrick’s struggling balance suddenly tipped down, “Alarieka!”

Alarieka’s steps still didn’t stop.

There was more struggle in Patrick’s eyes, “Alarieka, wait a sec.”

At the same time, it was Roschelle’s voice.

“Patrick.”

Patrick looked toward the source of the sound.

Roschelle was just standing in the backlight, her gentle and gracious smile looking blurry in the shadows, but it made Patrick’s heart race.

“Rose.”

Looking at Roschelle, Patrick felt his chest grow warm, and his voice wasn’t forced like before–it was truly gentle.

Roschelle waved at him, “What were you doing here alone? Come keep me company.”

Patrick had the most genuine smile on his face: “Okay, I’m coming right now.”

The moment he lifted his foot, Patrick caught a glimpse of someone walking onto the stage.

On the way to Roschelle, he couldn’t help but turn his head to look.

Alarieka dressed really simply today, not nearly as fancy or pretty as the other contestants.

She was just wearing a simple high school uniform, her back straight, walking steady.

It was only then that Patrick really realized Alarieka was just a high school student.

He opened his mouth several times, wanting to tell Alarieka to stop.

Roschelle kept urging on the other end, “Patrick, what are you looking at? Come here, hurry up.”

Patrick looked at Roschelle’s smiling face, and his eyes went blank for a moment.

Gradually, his heart slowly cooled down. What was he really thinking? How could he still feel sorry for Alarieka, the one who hurt Roschelle? How could he do that? This kind of behavior, in Patrick’s eyes, was no different from betraying Roschelle.

Patrick’s eyes went cold.

No matter what Alarieka did now, all the things Alarieka did to hurt Roschelle before, he still had to see it, and he had to pay Alarieka back for it, hard.

Thinking like that, Patrick didn’t feel sorry for Alarieka anymore and walked straight toward Roschelle.

It’s just that, if Alarieka had known what Patrick was thinking at that moment, she couldn’t help but sigh, “What a guy.” What did I do to Roschelle?

Getting closer, Roschelle’s smile became clearer.

Patrick’s chest felt warm, and he was even happier.

“Rose.”

Roschelle smiled and grabbed his wrist, “I called you before, why were you just staying here and made me come get you?”

Roschelle leaned in, stared at Patrick’s face, pressed her lips together, “What were you and Alarieka talking about?”

Patrick raised his hand and rubbed Roschelle’s head.

“What did you mean by that? What could I say to her? Everyone knew, I could only really talk to you.”

Roschelle let out a cute hum, “That’s more like it. If you had other female friends, I wouldn’t be your good friend anymore.”

Patrick raised his hands and surrendered: “No, no, I promise, you’re my only good friend.”

Roschelle raised her hand, made a fist, and gave Patrick a hard punch.

“Rose.”

Kieran’s voice was low and rich, with an obvious, suppressed anger.

Patrick’s face suddenly darkened.

If we’re talking about dislike, he disliked Kieran even more.

That was the guy who took Roschelle away and made her fall head over heels for him, but Kieran didn’t appreciate it. He kept messing around with Alarieka, making Roschelle suffer a lot. Even when she got pregnant, they still weren’t engaged. He really had no sense of responsibility.

It was just that Kieran’s anger showed up so clearly. There was obvious pressure and depth in Kieran’s dark eyes… He kept staring at the hand he had on Roschelle’s wrist. His sharp gaze almost turned into a blade, ready to cut that hand off.

Chapter 160

Patrick ignored Kieran’s anger and even gripped Roschelle’s wrist tighter.

He always remembered, when he confessed to Roschelle, it was Kieran who pulled Roschelle away.

He said meaningfully, “Mr. Argent, it’s been a long time.”
