Chapter 166

Alaricka slowly frowned. She looked toward Kieran and Roschelle. Kieran had his back to her, and only Roschelle turned her head to look at her. She looked at Roschelle. Roschelle smiled and picked up the water cup next to her, making sure to show the Schultz Group logo on the bottom, and shook it at her. Alaricka’s brows twitched a little. She took a deep breath and pushed down the worry rising in her heart. The Mcintosh Piano Competition was always fair and strict, and it didn’t take bribes just because Patrick sponsored the competition.

Thinking like that, Alaricka’s face relaxed a bit. On the other side, Roschelle wiped her hands and came out of the bathroom, and a flash of light blue passed before her eyes. Her pupils shrank, and she instinctively tried to back into the bathroom. The next second, someone grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall. At the same time, her mouth was covered.

Roschelle was almost scared to tears, breathing fast, her hands and feet were shaking, and she didn’t even dare to open her eyes.

“What are you crying for?” A gentle, almost sighing voice fell by her ear. Roschelle opened her eyes, her watery eyes staring nervously at the person in front of her, and tears were streaming down. These eyes and tears almost melted the man’s heart. Patrick couldn’t help but lower his voice again, bent down, and used the hand that was covering Roschelle’s mouth to wipe her tears. “Alright, alright, don’t cry, don’t cry, you’re making me feel bad.”

Roschelle saw clearly who was in front of her, and tears instantly streamed down again. She raised her hand and hit Patrick’s shoulder and chest, crying as she spoke. “What did you do to scare me!”

Patrick chuckled and took Roschelle’s anger. “Okay, okay, it was my fault, it was my fault. You can hit me however you want, alright?”

Roschelle wiped her tears, looked up and glared at him: “My hand hurt from hitting you.”

Patrick smiled gently and playfully, reaching out to grab Roschelle’s hand: “Where does it hurt? Let me see.”

Roschelle slapped his hand away, bit her lip, and said, “Don’t touch me.”

Patrick’s eyes suddenly darkened. He let out a short laugh, though there wasn’t much amusement in his eyes: “What, I can’t touch you, but Kieran can?”

Hearing that, a shy blush appeared on Roschelle’s cheeks: “What are you talking about? Why is Kieran just like you?”

Patrick lowered his eyelids, and for a moment, there was a hint of sadness on his face. After a moment, he let out a soft scoff and stepped back a few paces. When she looked up, Patrick already had his usual playful smile: “Forget about him, let’s talk about you.”

Roschelle lifted her chin, “What did you say about me?”

Patrick’s eyes went cold. “Tell me, what did Alaricka do to you?”

A hint of meaning flashed in Roschelle’s eyes: “Why are you asking this?”

Patrick looked a bit more serious, but since it was the person across from him, he still had a smile on his face. “I hadn’t even gone back and I already heard about it, that Alaricka had done quite a few good things.”

In just a few seconds, an idea popped up in Roschelle’s head. The best thing about Patrick was that he was totally in love with her. Even when he knew she was already pregnant, he still didn’t change his mind and was willing to do anything for her. If it wasn’t for Kieran, she really would’ve picked him. But there was no what if. Kieran was the best choice. But she also didn’t want to give up a loyal and capable simp.

Roschelle lowered her head, raised her hand, and wiped away the tears that hadn’t dried yet. Her voice was really low, like she’d been really wronged. “It’s okay, she didn’t do anything to me, I was just too useless.”

Just as Roschelle expected, Patrick’s face fell and he pressed, “What? What did she do to you?”

Roschelle sniffled and shook her head, “It’s nothing, you don’t have to worry about me.”

Patrick strode forward and grabbed her shoulders. “Tell me, what exactly did she do? Did she really bully you?”

Patrick’s tone was really serious, which was rare–he didn’t have his usual playful vibe. You could even clearly hear his anger toward Alaricka and his nervousness about Roschelle in his voice. Roschelle looked up, her red eyes staring at Patrick with a hurt, pitiful look.

“It’s okay, you didn’t have to worry about me…”

“Just that…”

Patrick lowered his voice and said, “You talk.”

Roschelle went before Alaricka in the prelims. With Roschelle’s level, passing the prelims was a sure thing, no doubt about it.
