Chapter 122 288 Vouchers

Whether it was before or in this life, Jaylene helped her so much.

Alaricka thought it was kind of sneaky to take Jaylene away before Kieran could, but she also felt pretty glad.

After evening study class ended, Alaricka and Jaylene rushed out of the school, rode the tricycle out, put the baking tray on it, and started the fire.

In just a few minutes, the classmates who heard the news early were already lining up in front of the stall, grabbing the baskets and squeezing together to pick out their barbecue.

In the crowd, Alaricka even saw teachers and leaders from school lining up.

She saw Reyna, and Reyna smiled at her gently.

“I’m coming, I’m coming,” the first one was a classmate from Alaricka’s class, who handed a basket of barbecue to Alaricka, “Mine, hurry up, I want to eat.”

Jaylene took the BBQ basket and sorted the food onto the grill. The smell of veggies and meat quickly filled the air.

In a flash, the shelves were already piled with the barbecue baskets that the classmates had left.

Alaricka was in charge of the dipping sauce, and Jaylene’s side hadn’t finished frying yet, so she had some time to watch the other classmates.

A lot of students kind of glanced at her, obviously still a bit wary because of the rumors about her before.

“This is Alaricka, how come she’s selling barbecue with Jaylene? Wasn’t she adopted by the Argent family?”

“You forgot? She was kicked out by the Argent family before, and now she’s out of money, so she could only set up a street stall.”

People whispered about Alaricka’s actions. Alaricka heard it all, but just quietly took the barbecue, dipped it in the sauce, wrapped it up and handed it over: “That’s twenty-three dollars, please scan the code.”

“Tch, I thought Alaricka was some rich princess, but now she’s just selling BBQ, right? I don’t get what she was so proud of before. Did you guys forget what she did before?”

The classmates around me all went silent.

The classmates who were excitedly picking out skewers slowed their hands, too.

Suddenly, one of the students stood up from the crowd and said, “Did something happen? That’s all just rumors. Only you guys with big mouths are talking nonsense. There’s no proof at all.”

When one person stood out, there would be another.

“Yeah, so what if I sell barbecue? I made money fair and square, how did that bother you? If you’ve got what it takes, go set up your own stall. Bet you wouldn’t even have the guts.”

If there was a second person, there would be a third, a fourth, and a fifth person.

Speaking of those few students who had complaints leaving, the rest of the students finally quieted down, picked out barbecue for themselves, put it on the rack, and lined up in an orderly way.

Alaricka looked up and noticed that the girl who spoke first was the same one who had crashed into Kieran’s car at the school gate.

The girl was also holding a basket full of barbecue. Not far away, her mom was waiting on an electric scooter. When she saw the girl looking over, she nodded at her in a friendly way.

Alaricka had a thought and glanced over the group of students.

Counting her past lives and this one, this was the first time she accepted kindness from others.

In the past, everyone just disliked her.

She slowly curled her lips into a smile and nodded at the aunt, too.

Jaylene bumped her shoulder and said, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up, don’t keep people waiting.”

Alaricka just noticed that there were already several skewers piled up high in the dipping sauce plate.

She immediately started to panic and rush around.

A crowd slowly gathered around the BBQ stand, and Alaricka and Jaylene’s business was booming. They were so busy, they didn’t have time to say anything else.

Of course, they didn’t notice either. Clarissa walked out of the school, saw what was happening, and gave a cold laugh. She took out her phone and snapped a picture of Alaricka, who was busy dipping sauce.

She tapped her finger on the phone screen, sent the photo to the family group chat, and then @'d everyone in the group one by one.

“Take a look.”

“Alaricka is down and out and had to sell barbecue.”

“That’s so funny, do you guys want to see the video? I took one, I could send it to you.”

Roschelle replied really fast: “Oh my god, how could this happen?”

“Wasn’t she a senior in high school? How could she study like that?”

“Weren’t you worried Alaricka would see it when you posted it here?”
