Chapter One Hundred and Eleven – Seven Hours
I was half-asleep when something suddenly caught my eye. I woke from my nap. Wyatt was still sound asleep beside me, snoring slightly. I smiled, happy he’d managed to sleep. Outside, dim darkness was approaching. What time was it? How long had we been asleep?
I checked the digital clock; it was six at night. We had been asleep for seven hours. What the hell? Yes, I was tired, but I didn’t think I was that tired. Had Wyatt been asleep the entire time, or did he get up at some point and climb back into bed? He never sleeps this long.
I didn’t want to wake him, but we would be awake all night if we slept any longer. “Wake up,” I said, kissing him softly.
He groaned and took a moment to come to. “Why did you wake me up?”
“Because it is six at night. We have been asleep for seven hours.”
He was quick to wake up. “What? Are you serious?” He checked the clock in disbelief. “I can’t believe we slept that long.”
Wyatt sat up and ran his fingers through his messy hair. “We must have needed it. We will possibly struggle to sleep tonight.”
He nodded in agreement. “We should probably get out of bed. We need to shower or get a bath. Are you hungry?”
“A bath sounds good. Yes, I could eat.”
“I’m hungry after our long nap.”
“Okay, we can have a bath and order in. What do you fancy? Anything you want, angel.” He smiled.
I raised my eyebrow at him. “What is your definition of ‘anything’?”
He is such a health freak. He doesn’t eat takeaway unless it’s meals from one of his favorite restaurants, the ones he’s familiar with. Our ideas of takeaway food are very different.
Wyatt laughed at my question, knowing how well I know him. “I mean anything you want. A reward, if you like, for coming with me last night,” he replied.
“Ramen bowls and dumplings,” I suggested. It is still quite a healthy option compared to other food.
“Okay, baby. You can order it. Use my cell so you can pay for it from my account. You know what I like. I will start the bath.”
“Will I ask for it to be delivered in about an hour?”
“Yes, an hour is fine.”
He kissed me and exited the bedroom to go to the bathroom and start our bath. I reached for his cell and tapped in his code. I know his, and he knows mine. We have nothing to hide from each other. I was surprised when I saw his screensaver. There is a photo of me on IL One, I don’t even remember him taking it. I have a bright smile on my face. I don’t even know when or where it was taken.
How have I never noticed it before? Did he change it recently? I don’t know, but it makes me smile. It’s sweet. Who knew he was the type to have his girlfriend as his screensaver? I won’t mention it to him.
I found somewhere to order the food from. I picked one and paid for it. I can’t wait for it to get here. I am excited for it. I love Aslan food! I sat his cell aside as he came back into the room. “You want a glass of wine?”
“Okay. Do you want a…”
I got out of bed and followed him. I only had one of his tees and a pair of his house socks on. After being warm under the covers for so long, I shuddered. Wyatt took joggers and a hoodie from his closet, handing them to me. I thanked him and quickly pulled them on. He tossed me a pair of socks to put on, too. I love wearing his clothes. They are warm and cozy. His scent on them is a comfort to me.
