Chapter One Hundred and Two: I Want To Be Respectful

I grip Wyatt’s hand as we head inside the beautiful, modern mansion. Several cars are already in the driveway, and many people are in attendance. I am somewhat nervous as he leads me through the place and into what I assume is the living room—or at least one of them. I’m sure a place this size has more than one. I looked around at everyone. The group is quite diverse; the men mostly wear suits or casual clothes, while the women wear dresses or lingerie. Everyone looks amazing; they seem to be enjoying their drinks and each other’s company. I don’t think this room is where sexual activities take place, as nothing is happening. Maybe it’s a place for people to get acquainted before the activities begin.

“We should find Brian to say hello,” Wyatt says.

“What’s the best way to greet him? Is he also a Dom, or just someone who…”

“Yes, he’s in Doms, so greet him with your eyes down until he tells you otherwise. It shows respect,” he answers.

“I am capable of doing that. Should I address him as ‘sir,’ or is that just for you?”

I understand my questions might sound silly, but I want to show respect. He’s the host. You should always be polite and respectful to the host. Only this one is a little different from what I am used to.

“Yes, but only if he doesn’t request you to call him by his name.”

I nod, and he keeps a hold of my hand, leading me through the people. He greets everyone. I see the women staring, lusting after him, and my stomach tightens with jealousy. How many of their women has he been with? I must avoid that mindset; otherwise, I’ll be trapped. I try to ignore them and the men who seem to be watching me as I walk by.

Wyatt stiffened, letting go of my hand to pull me close, his arm wrapping around me. He is comfortable with other men eyeing me.

“There he is,” he says, nodding in a direction.

I follow the direction of his pointing finger. He seems to be about Wyatt’s age, possibly a couple of years older. He is handsome, too: a black suit, slicked-back black hair, and a tall, muscular build. He’s chatting and laughing with his guests. As he guides me toward him, I inhale deeply.

“Brian,” he greets.

Brian’s attention falls on him, smiling. They exchanged hugs. I keep my eyes on the ground, waiting to be introduced.

“Brian, meet Alyssa. Alyssa, Brian,” he introduces.

“Pleased to meet you, sir. Thank you for allowing me to come,” I say softly.

“Miss Alyssa, good morning. You can lift your head. It’s a pleasure meeting you as well.” He has the same dominant, confident presence Wyatt does.

I obey. He extends his hand, which I grasp and shake.

“Thank you, sir.” I smile.

“Wyatt didn’t exaggerate; you’re even more beautiful than he said.”

My face flushes, and I offer him a polite “Thank you.” My eyes met Wyatt’s; he was staring at me proudly. I didn’t think he would be the type to talk to his friends about me.

“Alyssa is feeling pretty anxious since it is her first time attending an event like this,” Wyatt says.

“There’s nothing to be concerned about. Everyone will be kind and friendly. Go at your own speed. Participate, or simply relax and enjoy your time here. It’s overwhelming for first-timers, but don’t worry, everything will be alright. Get yourself a glass of champagne. Try and calm your nerves.”

“Please, call me Brian. I appreciate you calling me ‘sir,’ but that title is only for Wyatt.”

He seems lovely. I’m curious also about the kind of Dom he is. Wyatt remains quiet, avoiding any interruption.

“Wyatt, get Alyssa some champagne, then we’ll give her a tour.”

The name is Wyatt, or something similar? Who knows, but I won’t pry. A short conversation took place between him and…

Nodding. Wyatt is pouring me a drink. I’m tempted to panic without him, but Brian’s presence calms me.

Wyatt said you’re not experienced, not only with parties like these, but also the Dom community.

“Yes. It is all very new to me. I was aware of their existence, but I’ve never been involved or knowledgeable about them.”

“You appear to be adapting well. I hope you’re being treated well by him. Are you enjoying your new lifestyle?”

“Yes, Wyatt is good to me. He takes care of me in all aspects in a way no one ever has. I’m still adapting and learning, but I’m enjoying the process,” I reply brightly.

“Good. He can be distant and impolite sometimes, but at his core, he’s a good person. He has been through a lot. Yes, it’s a long learning curve, but you’re picking it up quickly.”

“Oh, trust me, I know. He was my boss for a year before anything happened between us,” I laugh. “I am eager to learn everything I can.”

“I can imagine what he was like as a boss. How did your relationship begin? He has shared many details about you and your relationship, but not how it all began.”

“He needed someone to be his date to get his family off his back at a family wedding. He basically forced me to be his date. I hated him for it, but that one weekend started changing things.”

He chuckles, “Sometimes that’s all that is needed. One moment, and everything changes in a way you couldn’t imagine.”

“It shocked me because we’d always clashed before that,”

“Likely due to pent-up sexual tension,” he laughs.

“That would appear to be the case.”

The conversation came to a halt because we see Wyatt on his way back. He takes his spot next to me, handing me a glass of champagne, and rests his hand on the small of my back.

“Thank you.” I smile.

He smiles and kisses my cheek.

“What were you two discussing? You fell silent as I approached?” he asks curiously, looking between us.

“Alyssa was telling me the story of how you two got started.”

“I’m certain she enjoyed revealing her past dislike of me to you.” Wyatt laughs.

“My conclusion: The feelings between you weren’t hate but repressed sexual tension,” Brian says.

“That’s a valid point.”

I sip my champagne, nodding in agreement. My anxiety has lessened. May it continue. However, things may change if I run into Wyatt’s ex. I don’t know what she looks like, therefore, I won’t recognize her unless we’re introduced or if she seeks out Wyatt.
