Chapter 268

After Blake took off his hood, everyone recognized him. Even if they weren’t familiar with the domestic entertainment industry, the news about the Wilder Group signing Blake had been huge—they must’ve seen it somewhere. Blake’s face was unforgettable; once you’d seen it, you wouldn’t forget it, no matter who you were.

Sam had already come over and taken the raincoat that Blake removed.

“I knew you were on a business trip. There’s no way I wouldn’t find out about something this big. Don’t worry. I brought satellite communication gear with me. I also brought a rescue team, and these supplies should last us a few days.”

Indya was still stuck in a state of shock, just quietly staring at Blake. It took a long time before she finally snapped out of it and lowered her gaze.

Blake had always been dazzling and flawless—never had she seen him so disheveled.

“Thank you.” Jessica didn’t say much either. She simply instructed people to help the rescue team and Sam inventory the supplies. After that, the rescue team would be heading back out again. After all, they hadn’t come all this way just to escort Blake safely to Montvue Tower.

The room was a little cold, and the moisture from outside hung heavily in the air. Indya found a place to smoke and dragged Blake toward the fire escape.

The floor was littered with cigarette butts—everyone had been coming here to smoke lately. It might as well have been labeled a smoking room.

“Cut back on the smoking.” Blake didn’t care about his image either. He simply sat down next to Indya and glanced at the sore on the corner of her mouth. “I brought fruit. Eat some later.”

Indya asked, “Why’d you suddenly come here? Does the crew know?”

Blake nodded. “Of course they do. I brought the rescue team with me. The whole crew is getting a break. But nothing’s more important than the safety of the people here, especially you.”

Indya wasn’t clueless. In fact, she was very sharp. Based on the way Blake spoke to her and what he had done today, she understood—Blake was pursuing her.

“Thank you for coming.” Indya didn’t know how to reject someone like him. For now, she could only thank him.

“Is there a room I can crash in? Looks like I’ll be stuck here with you for a few days. Actually, that’s perfect—Sam needs to talk to you about the next project. Now we’ve got plenty of time.”

Who would want this kind of “plenty of time”?

Indya gave a helpless laugh. “There are plenty of empty rooms upstairs. I’ll get one ready for you.”

The two of them stayed in the fire escape for a long while.

Ever since Blake had arrived and walked up to Indya, Anthony had been watching him closely.

A man could always tell when another man was in love. Anthony instantly saw that Blake liked Indya—not just casually pursuing her, but with a look that said he was determined to win.

So what if he was an actor?

Sure, he looked good.

But honestly, Anthony wasn’t confident.

Indya was someone who judged by appearances. She had money, status, and power. What she looked for in a man was simple; if she liked his looks, that was enough. She didn’t need to gain anything else from him.

So… could it be that Indya actually liked someone like Blake—just a good-looking man?

“You’ve been looking at those two in the stairwell for a while now, huh?” said Linda. “I know who Blake is—he starred in a lot of films. He’s really popular in our country too. Do you know him, Anthony?”

Anthony brushed Linda’s body away as she leaned in, shaking his head like he didn’t know.

Linda laughed. “He’s an A-list celebrity in Cheria. Good-looking and rich. Compared to someone like that, Anthony—you really don’t stand a chance.”
