Chapter 261
“Keep the company running, and if things really get bad, just ask my mother-in-law to take care of things,” said Chris.
His vision blurred for a moment, and he almost crashed into the divider.
After a brief panic, he calmed himself down again.
“Remember to tell my mother-in-law that Jessica is fine, and that the landslide happened quite a distance from Montvue Tower.”
Maggie was already preparing to head to the company, coordinating with the public relations department to address any rumors outside.
“Alright, got to go.”
Another phone call came in.
Collin and Jaden had already gone to the company early.
For such big news, the entire staff at Hurricane Media returned to their posts and worked overtime.
Compared to the news, Collin was more worried about Jessica’s situation.
“Mandy is already on the way.” Collin glanced at the time on the computer. “She should arrive in about two hours, definitely faster than you all. I told Mandy to pay extra attention to Jessica’s situation.”
“Okay.”
When Chris arrived at the hospital, just as his car stopped, someone hurried through the rain and fog with an umbrella and opened the door on his side.
Ashley firmly held the umbrella for him.
“All the leaders from the five hospitals have arrived,” he said. “The captain from unit three of the police headquarters is in charge of this rescue operation. You are in charge of the medical teams, and they are currently dividing the areas for each hospital.”
The two of them hurried inside.
“The Summit Infirmary has the best resources, and its assigned area is the innermost part.” Ashley glanced at Chris’s stern face. “I guess you want to be closer to Ms. Wilder.”
Closer was better.
It was best to know her condition while helping save lives.
Francesca had arrived at the hospital half an hour earlier after receiving the news.
She had already selected the support team and was racing against time to list out the rewards for those involved.
The door to the Summit Infirmary meeting room was still open.
Through the crack, Francesca saw Chris approaching and quickly stood up.
“Mr. Green, this is Lucas Brooks, the captain of unit three from headquarters,” Francesca quickly introduced. “Captain Brooks, this is our chairman, Mr. Green,” she added.
Lucas was looking at a map.
He only looked up after hearing the voices and shook Chris’s hand.
“Mr. Green, I’ve heard much about you. I have a good relationship with Roy.”
“Hello. We’ve finished dividing the areas. Is everyone here?” Chris got straight to the point.
Lucas glanced up.
“There are still three people missing from the Central Hospital and two from the Fourth Infirmary. The rest have already gone to the pharmacy to distribute resources.”
“I suggest bringing plenty of medical supplies. The local medical team is trapped, and their medicine is probably almost used up or unusable. We have to prepare everything; there’s no turning back.”
Lucas nodded. “You’re in charge of the medical teams here. The medicine supplies will be under your arrangement. Hurry up. We leave at five.”
Chris said, “If those doctors aren’t here by five, I’ll select backup from the Summit Infirmary on-duty doctors.”
“Okay.”
Chris and Lucas only met briefly.
Chris turned around and led Francesca and the others to assign tasks.
The remaining hospital leaders followed, discussing medicine distribution.
“Who’s in charge of the pharmacy? Come sign here,” Francesca called to the person on duty.
Chris’s attention drifted briefly.
Since Megan left, if anyone wanted to interfere inside the Summit Infirmary again, they would probably have to collude with Hector and bribe the pharmacy staff once more.
This time, the person in charge was young; apparently, the person had only graduated from medical school a year or two ago and seemed sharp.
“Mr. Green!”
Jake ran back in from outside.
“Three cars collided on Sky Road. The injured will arrive in 10 minutes!”
