But that was all abroad. This was Impelia, after all. It wasn’t so simple to detain someone here, and it wasn’t easy to evade the criminal investigation unit either. Mandy hadn’t been back in the country for long and truly couldn’t figure out where Michael might be keeping someone. That was why Roy was so eager to find Jessica. Among their group, the only one who could truly claim to understand Michael might just be Jessica. But she had gone into the mountains, and the signal had been poor ever since.

“When is Jessica coming back?” asked Collin.

Chris kept staring at his phone. “She said four or five days. Once that group of experts goes abroad, she’ll bring her project team back. There’s been rain in the mountains recently, so the signal is poor.”

While Collin was busy discussing Michael with them, it was actually Jaden who was taking care of Mandy. As for her “brother-in-law,” Mandy had already grown quite used to it – especially now that she had officially joined Hurricane Media. Most of her affairs were handled by Jaden, and many of her tasks required coordination with him. Mandy could understand why the Phillips family disliked Jaden so much. Because Jaden was just too talented. He was so talented that they had already begun to worry whether he might take over all of Hurricane Media and push the Phillips family out. But judging from Jaden’s relationship with his brother, the members of the Phillips family were worrying too much.

“I’m done eating. I need to head back and check on the perimeter setup. You guys carry on. If there’s any news from Jessica, remember to let me know,” Roy said as he stood up. He rested one hand on the back of Nina’s chair and bent down slightly. “The weather’s been bad lately. Tell the driver to drive slow.”

Nina nodded obediently. No matter how fierce Nina was in the entertainment industry, in front of her older brother, she was always a soft and gentle little girl – she even had to get her brother’s permission if she wanted to date someone.

As soon as Roy left, Nina wiped the corner of her mouth and said to Chris, “I’m dating Matthew.”

Chris was rendered speechless. Everyone froze for a second. Chris instinctively looked over at Nina.

Jaden laughed. “How come not a single word of this leaked? What’s our entertainment department at Hurricane Media even doing?”

Mandy silently mourned for her colleagues in the entertainment division. She wasn’t in the entertainment department – she was in international news, responsible for major affairs and exclusive coverage. Hurricane Media hadn’t made its name through celebrity gossip media anyway, so it wasn’t focused on just that one niche.

Nina glanced at herself in the mirror. “Matthew hasn’t built up major fame in Cheria yet. I’ve been keeping a low profile lately. I was worried that my brother might notice something. He really doesn’t like people in the entertainment industry, and I haven’t figured out how to tell him yet.”

It was precisely because she had Roy – plus her own ability to create value – that she had avoided being forced into a business alliance marriage. But as the daughter of the Felton family, she still couldn’t date just anyone. Even if it wasn’t about marriage alliances, her partner still needed to be someone useful to the family. If Matthew were an A-list celebrity like Blake, things might be a lot easier.

“Then just wait a while longer. Isn’t Matthew with a filming crew right now?” said Chris.

Nina nodded. “He’s in Hesterfield for two months. I’m planning to visit him next month during my business trip.”

Jaden suggested, “Watch out for the paparazzi. Hurricane Media should have the exclusive for such an explosive news story.”

Nina sighed. “Everything’s about work for you, isn’t it? Matthew and I haven’t planned to go public. Let’s talk about it later.”

They chatted for a while longer. Mandy only ate a few more bites, then began working on her article from her phone, sending all the photos from the scene back to the office. Mandy was still living with her adoptive parents at the moment, who had already moved into the Golden Mansion, which wasn’t far from where Collin and Jaden lived.
