Chapter 248

This was a memory deeply imprinted in Blake’s heart, and he had only just told Jessica about it that day.

No wonder Blake was so persistent about Indya.

To say it was love at first sight was simply too shallow.

Over the years, many people had fallen in love with Indya at first sight.

If Jessica paid attention to every one of them, she wouldn’t have time to work and would just be counting how many of her subordinates had feelings for her.

Blake clearly wasn’t the type to fall in love easily.

After enduring hardships, a person would naturally lock their heart tightly.

Someone like Blake might only have one chance in their lifetime for that door to be opened.

Blake placed the key in Indya’s hands, hoping she would notice it.

But obviously, Indya didn’t notice at all.

That was why outsiders were needed to help.

Blake had no experience in this area and could only seek help from Jessica and Chris.

He knew that the couple had also gone from emotional discord to where they were now, so he hoped they could help him.

Shannon listened and held back for a long time before turning to the car window and suddenly laughing out loud.

Jessica frowned. “What are you laughing at?”

“Blake asking for help from you two – he really picked the right people.”

Jessica was rendered speechless.

It wasn’t strange that Shannon laughed; the conflicts between Jessica and Chris were far from simple.

Chris also went to the hospital distracted, but luckily no surgeries were scheduled recently.

He focused fully on patients with spinal curvature.

Fortunately, the post-surgery recovery went well with no obvious drug rejection.

After 48 hours, the biggest hurdle was considered passed.

Patients could be moved from the ICU to an ordinary ward.

From then on, care would depend on nurses and family members.

Despite this, they still needed to stay in the hospital for two months.

Today, Adam also came for a follow-up and deliberately went upstairs to greet Chris.

Chris reviewed some documents arranged by Francesca when Adam knocked and entered.

“Mr. Green,” Adam said softly.

Chris was momentarily surprised, then smiled and put down the files.

“You’re here for a follow-up today?”

“Yeah, I didn’t see you downstairs at the clinic, so I wanted to come up and say hello.”

Chris invited Adam to take a seat.

“You look well. Your recovery seems good. Let me see the report.”

Adam handed over the report.

Chris skimmed it and nodded.

“You’re doing well. Based on your current condition, you can rejoin the crew in another two months, but you still need to take things easy.”

“I’ve slowly started working again recently – mostly doing endorsements where I just stand still, so it’s not a problem.”

They chatted a bit before Adam left.

Chris glanced at his phone. Jessica should have arrived by now.

He was about to call her when the call came first.

It was Roy.

“Roy?” Chris was puzzled. Why was Roy calling at this hour?

Roy sounded frantic. The rain outside poured continuously, and he was soaked, standing by his car with one hand on the roof.

“Where’s Jessica? Why isn’t she answering her phone? Where is everyone?”

“Jessica is on a business trip. She went to Montvue Tower. What’s up?”

Something major had happened to the Hall family.

Luke was missing.

Chapter 248

He was said to have left the company, drove into a tunnel, but never came out.

“Luke is married, but he has a mistress who’s been living with him lately. Two days ago, he promised to take her to a candlelight dinner after work, but he never showed up.”

Roy casually shook off an umbrella his subordinate was holding for him.
