Chapter 185

Listen to this chapter:

Jessica found it ridiculous.

The Wilder Group could replace Jason at any time. The low-end line of Wilder Jewelry didn’t necessarily need an endorsement. Like the IT department, it was dispensable. The jewelry department always focused on the high-end line.

Standing in the backyard, Jessica remained silent for a short while. Through the huge glass door, she could see Chris waving at her. After giving it some thought, she said, “Since that’s the case, then postpone indefinitely. Jason isn’t cooperating right now. When he has time, the company’s filming schedule will be full as well. We’re not the ones who should be anxious.”

Once the Wilder Group’s entertainment department was fully operational, the Hall Group would have no place in the entertainment industry at all.

“Okay, I’ll do as you say.” Shannon immediately gave the order.

It was currently the holiday season, and the company was practically empty. People casually said things without anyone really paying attention.

“Michael liked to act childish when he was dating you back then, and he still does. Don’t know where he got that habit from,” Shannon said casually.

Jessica said, “It’s normal to be a little childish when dating. Recently, Chris would occasionally throw a tantrum too, but outside of that identity, Michael was clearly crossing the line.”

Back when they were dating, Jessica was willing to comfort Michael. Now, with no identity connecting him to Jessica, what he was doing was hostile in the business world.

“You handle the rest however you want. Wait, I thought you’ve already gone home? Why do you still have time to check work messages?” asked Jessica.

Shannon sounded quite helpless, “No choice. If I don’t talk about work, my family keeps trying to set me up. I’m a senior secretary with an annual salary of 200 thousand dollars, and they want me to go on blind dates with men who earn 1,000 dollars a month. And those men are so full of themselves it’s disgusting. So I use work as an excuse to go out for coffee.”

Most of the Wilder Group’s executives had no personal life. Back then, Indya had a boyfriend who broke up with her because she couldn’t accept her work attitude that work mattered more than him.

Shannon, as a secretary, spent every hour revolving around Jessica. How could she have time to date guys? She barely found time to eat lunch. Since her annual salary was 200 thousand per annum, she had to be worth that money.

“I’ll help you manage your love life once the entertainment department gets on track. I’ve got to go.”

Chris, dressed in loungewear with sleeves rolled up, came out looking for Jessica after she didn’t return for a while.

“Shannon said Jason wants to postpone the shoot.” Jessica put away her phone. “Looks like you really pissed Michael off just now.”

Chris thought to himself, was Michael really that petty? He had been careful with his words, and Michael couldn’t even handle that? A man like this wanting to stand by Jessica’s side was way off.

Back when Michael was stirring up rumors with Jessica, so many people said he got cheated on, yet he still insisted on delivering meals to Jessica. He was still putting on a show in front of so many people.

“What’s on your mind?” Jessica saw Chris zoning out and asked curiously.

Chris said, “I was thinking that in Mandy’s case, they never caught the real culprit. Two hired hands won’t say who hired them. This New Year won’t be good for Roy. Should we visit the Felton family on New Year’s Day?”

“That’s fine. The Felton family is deeply rooted in Impelia, it can’t hurt to build a good relationship. Besides, I have something to talk to Nina about.”

Currently, Nina was the person in charge of FN. The whole Felton family still listened to Roy and Nina.

“Go wash your hands.”
