Chapter 4

"Mr. Mortimer, for such a huge order Are you sure you want to work with us?" David and Simone could hardly believe it. The Langley Group was on the verge of bankruptcy; working with the Excelsior Group felt like a pipe dream.

"Mr. Langley, is my visit to your doorstep not enough to show my sincerity?" Duke joked.

"Of course not!" David waved a hand. "It's just hard for us to believe that someone of your stature would come all the way here"

Duke glanced calmly at Dustin. "I heard about what happened to the Langley family. What you did was honorable and worthy of respect. You refused to sell substandard products, even taking on huge debts to ensure they didn't reach the market. The Excelsior Group needs partners like you."

David's eyes filled with tears. "Thank you thank you" he repeated. This order was exactly what the Langley family needed.

"Dad, this order" Simone looked troubled. "The Langley family is weighed down by enormous debts. How are we supposed to find the capital for such a huge production?"

"Don't worry, Miss Langley. My company is willing to pay 50% of the costs upfront. Once you produce the first two batches, we'll pay the other half," Duke said.

Simone's eyes widened. The Langley family was in disbelief. No one did business like this. Duke was clearly here to help, but why? None of them had an answer.

"David, Monique, Simone, if Mr. Mortimer is being so sincere, what's there to worry about?" Dustin asked.

"This young man is right. You have nothing to worry about. I only want to build a trustworthy business relationship," Duke said with a warm smile.

"Alright. Then, we'll accept this order!" David nodded.

Duke produced two copies of the contract, clearly prepared.

Outside the Langley family's villa, a Maserati screeched to a halt. Amara emerged. Seeing the Maybach and its license plate, her face darkened. The president of the Excelsior Group had actually visited in person.

She hurried into the villa, baffled. She knocked forcefully on the door. It opened to reveal Dustin.

"A… Amara Wyatt, what are you doing here?" Dustin asked, frowning.

"Who are you to question me? You're just an outsider!" Amara retorted coldly. "Get out of my way!"

Dustin's face stiffened. Outsider. After a decade with the Wyatt family, he was still considered an outsider. A moment later, he stepped aside with a mocking look.

Amara found Duke and David about to sign the contract.

"Mr. Mortimer, you can't sign that!" she shouted.

Everyone looked at her. Amara walked toward them, her high heels clicking on the floor.

"Mr. Mortimer, the Wyatt Group is the perfect partner for the Excelsior Group! We're the only company in Rivenesco that can handle your order!" she declared. "The Langley family is incapable!"

Duke frowned and glared at her. Despite Amara's formidable presence, she was no match for Duke.

"It's not up to you to dictate how the Excelsior Group conducts its business!" Duke said firmly.

Amara's face changed.

"So, this is how the eldest daughter of the Wyatt family was raised? Barging in without permission and insulting the Langley family in their own home?" Dustin mocked.

Amara's face paled. Dustin, who had always supported her, seemed unconcerned. Enraged, her blood boiled.

"He's completely right," Duke said indifferently. "Miss Wyatt, don't you have any manners?"

Amara controlled her temper, forcing a smile. "Mr. Mortimer, you're right. I was out of line. I'm very sincere in wanting to work with the Excelsior Group. Your sudden cancellation surprised us. Could you tell us where we went wrong?"

Duke chuckled. "Excelsior will not work with a company lacking basic decency."

He then bid farewell to the Langley family, ignoring Amara completely. Livid, she wondered what he implied about her company. She looked at the exceedingly calm Dustin. Could this be connected to… him? Impossible. He was nothing.

"Miss Wyatt, please have some coffee," Simone offered.

Amara flung the cup to the floor, shattering it. Simone cried out, nearly burned.

"Amara Wyatt!" Dustin stood up, his expression frightening. "This isn't the Wyatt family. No one tolerates your behavior! If you want a tantrum, do it at home!"

He then gently asked Simone, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Simone replied softly, touched by his concern and unexpected defense.

Chapter 4 (Bonus)

Amara stared at Dustin in disbelief. He, once insignificant, now dared to order her around?

Her face turned cold. "Do you think the Langley Group can challenge the Wyatt Group? We'll see. This isn't over! I'll ruin them!"

As she passed Dustin, she sneered, "You think you're impressive? This is your revenge? You can't ruin the Wyatt family!"

Dustin frowned. Amara was irrational.

"Amara," he called, following her.

She turned, cold and aloof, refusing eye contact.

"Do you think you single-handedly built the Wyatt Group? That everyone should worship you?" Dustin scoffed.

"Yeah. So?" Amara challenged.

"Without me, no one would have helped your ungrateful family these past ten years. Who do you think supported your lifestyle? The Wyatt family can't survive without me!" Dustin laughed mockingly. He had secretly kept them afloat, but Amara took all the credit.

"You have no ability, yet you think you're impressive. The Wyatt Group will fall because of you, sooner or later!" Dustin said indifferently. "From the moment I left, its downfall was inevitable!"

Amara was about to retort when Dustin slammed the car door in her face. She kicked her car viciously, venting her anger.
