Chapter 9
Kolby was overwhelmed by Scarlet’s powerful grip, making it hard for him to breathe. Scarlet, acting like a mad person, clung onto Kolby’s arms, preventing the police officer from handcuffing him.
“No, no, no, Ms. Lynch. Drew’s dad knows he was wrong. For the sake of the two children’s relationship, let’s discuss and negotiate, shall we?”
My mother gave her a disdainful look. “What’s there to discuss? Where’s that domineering attitude when you were hitting my daughter? Now you know about negotiation! If it weren’t for legal protection, I would personally chop you up. How dare you talk to me about discussing? Mr. Koch, thank you for your efforts, please take her away quickly!”
Gaven nodded and, along with Drew, was handcuffed and walked out of the door.
Drew seemed to have a breakdown and yelled at Kolby before leaving, “What have you done? Look at what you’ve done! You’ve ruined everything for me…”
Scarlet wanted to chase after him, but my mother stopped her. Just then, Darren’s colleague arrived, holding a restraining order issued by the court.
My mother handed it over to Scarlet and said seriously, “Take a good look, this is an official document issued by the court, which clearly states that your family must leave this house and not approach Penelope again. It is illegal to enter within six months. Do you understand? Now I give you ten minutes to pack up your belongings and get out, and you are not allowed to appear in front of Penelope again.”
My mother’s words were irresistible, and Scarlet was already on the verge of a breakdown, asking in a dazed manner, “Where…where do you want me to go? I…”
My mother interrupted her, saying, “I don’t care where you go, but you have only ten minutes to get out of my daughter’s house.”
That evening, I went out and went to the hospital for an injury assessment. I remembered that the bracelet was still on Scarlet’s hand. My mom told me not to worry about anything, but that bracelet was a bomb now!
I lay in the hospital for a few days. Drew slapped me and was detained for a day before being released. Scarlet went crazy looking for me, but at that time, I had already changed my phone number, blocked him on WhatsApp, and cut off all means of contact. He had no choice but to find me at my workplace.
The assistant came forward to receive them and asked, “Are you looking for Ms. Lynch?”
“No, I’m looking for Penelope. She used to work here.”
“Penelope is our Ms. Lynch, right? She is not here now. She said a few days ago that she was going on a business trip, and we haven’t been able to reach her either.”
As soon as she realized I was the boss of this company, Scarlet exploded again! She started muttering to herself as if she had gone crazy, “She’s the boss! She’s actually the boss! She didn’t tell Drew; she didn’t tell us… She’s a fraud, she’s a fraud!”
“Penelope, you come out, come out and explain clearly!”
Drew sat on the ground, his face ashen, while his mother yelled in the hallway.
It was not until now that he finally understood what he had missed and where he had gone wrong!
Scarlet went crazy on the side, screaming and cursing at me. The assistant could only kindly advise her not to cause a scene in the company, as she would be held legally responsible.
“I’m so angry! Why didn’t she tell the truth? Why would she deceive us when she’s so rich! I know, this is all a trap set by her… Drew! She definitely wants to harm you, right? Right?”
Drew could only shake his head helplessly, with a bitter expression in his eyes.
Just when I was worried about not being able to get rid of these two troublemakers, Gaven came again, this time with people, to arrest Scarlet!
