Chapter 81

Charlie woke up drunk, but luckily, the cabin had a bed. Jarvis and Ernest helped him onto it to rest. Rebecca used the opportunity to explore outside. She had never seen the ocean before. The Mitchells were not financially struggling; they took annual vacations, but never included Rebecca.

"There are speedboats over there. Want to try one?" Jarvis asked Rebecca, smiling.

Rebecca looked at the speedboat, then at Jarvis. After a moment, she nodded. "Yes."

"Alright! Let's go have fun!" Jarvis exclaimed happily.

Ernest laughed and rented a speedboat from the cruise staff. They took Rebecca for a thrilling ride. Sheโ€™d never felt such a sensationโ€”the speedboat raced through the water, occasionally hitting waves, a dangerous but exhilarating experience. Her heart pounded, and afterward, she felt refreshed and happy.

Afterward, they returned to the cruise ship. Jarvis bought three fishing sets, giving one each to Ernest and Rebecca, keeping one for himself. They fished together on deck.

It took Charlie three hours to wake up. He opened his eyes groggily, his consciousness hazy at first, but gradually he became more alert. He remembered the West Sea and Rebecca.

"Becky!!" Charlie panicked, sitting up and rushing outside. "Why did I get drunk? Where's Becky? What if she's lost again? She needs my care! How could I get drunk?" He almost slapped himself, but then remembered Ernest and Jarvis.

He called Jarvis, relieved to learn Rebecca was fishing with Ernest and Jarvis on deck. He walked happily to the deck, found Rebecca, and smiled. Rebecca turned, and they both laughed.

"Hey Becky, fishing's boring. Let's go on a speedboat! They're way more fun!" Charlie exclaimed. Ernest proudly announced, "We already took her."

Charlie was shocked. "How? I should be taking Becky on joyrides! How did they beat me to it?" "Speedboats are fun. I want to go again," Rebecca said, delighted.

Ernest froze. Charlie's eyes lit up. He looked challengingly at Ernest. "Sure, I'll rent a speedboat now!" Becky's my sister. She'll side with me. Ernest's jealous. He's dreaming.

Rebecca packed her fishing gear and went with Charlie. She wasn't exaggerating; the speedboat ride was truly exhilarating. They enjoyed themselves until dark.

They docked; Ernest and Jarvis prepared to leave. Charlie took Rebecca to the plane. After a three-hour flight, they arrived in Maeloria just before nine o'clock.

Their driver waited at the airport. Charlie planned to sleep at home. Janet arranged for paparazzi to follow them, hoping to capture photos of Charlie and Rebecca returning to the mansion together.

The paparazzi were ecstatic, taking pictures. Their happiness was short-lived. Three bodyguards appeared. Minutes later, the paparazzi were in the villa's living room with Patrick, Debra, Charlie, Rebecca, the housekeeper, two nannies, and two babies.

Everyone stared at the paparazzi. They were terrified.

"Were you spying?" Charlie asked, amused and disdainful.

The paparazzi frantically denied it, then hurriedly offered to delete the photos. Charlie watched them delete the pictures, then checked their cameras before returning them.

"Becky, call the police," Charlie said. Rebecca nodded. Stalking and taking secret photos were illegal.

The paparazzi turned pale, begging for mercy. "Mr. Carter! We're sorry! We deleted the photos! We won't harm you!"

Charlie smiled coldly. "You deleted the photos, and I should let you go? What if I hadn't found you?"

The paparazzi were speechless. Rebecca coldly called the police.

Half an hour later, Bryce, in uniform, arrived with colleagues. Rebecca blinked, surprised. "Bryce?"

Bryce greeted them calmly, then formally investigated before taking the paparazzi away. Both Rebecca and Charlie were speechless.

After Bryce left, Charlie turned to Debra and Patrick, shocked. "Dad, Mom, why is Bryce here?"
