Chapter 70

After discussing it with her parents, Rebecca and her family began packing. The adults didn't have much to pack; most of the preparation focused on the babies, ensuring nothing was left behind. With many hands helping, everything was packed and organized quickly.

The thought of returning home to the place that truly belonged to her made Rebecca's heart race. She could barely contain her joy. Debra and Patrick were equally elated. Thanks to a stroke of luck, their precious daughter, lost for so many years, had finally been found. Now, they could bring her home.

That night, in the master bedroom, Patrick held his wife close. They stayed up late, unable to sleep because of their overwhelming happiness. In the next room, Rebecca also stayed up late, buzzing with excitement. Charlie, worried about her, called. Learning his sister was returning home with their parents, he almost cried with envy. Unfortunately, he had many scenes left to shoot for his film and couldn't return in time. Otherwise, he would have accompanied his sister.

It wasn't just Charlie who called. Their older brothers, Adrian and Bryce, also contacted her after hearing the news, speaking with Rebecca for a long time. They shared stories about their hometown: the unique spots, the delicious food, and even the family-owned mineral mines. Regarding the mineral mines, they explained in detail how to select the best emeralds.

"Just pick the best ones; don't worry about the cost. We own several mines there. It's all ours, so take whatever you want," they said.

It wasn't until late that her brothers ended the video call, finally allowing Rebecca to rest. Surrounded by her family's love and care, she felt an overwhelming sense of happiness. Even in her sleep, a contented smile played on her lips.

Early the following day, everyone was up. The housekeeper had prepared breakfast, and the babies woke up after the family ate together. Rebecca nursed the twins. Once the babies were fed, her parents urged everyone to get ready to leave. They were taking a helicopter back to their hometown. Rebecca was thrilled, as were the nannies; it was their first helicopter ride.

Rebecca and Debra each carried a baby while the nannies handled the luggage. They headed to the villa's courtyard, which, being spacious, served as a temporary helipad. The helicopter was already waiting. The pilot helped load the luggage. Once everything was stowed, it was time to board. Patrick and Debra boarded first with Lily, followed by Rebecca and Kev, and lastly, the two nannies. Inside, everyone found their seats and buckled up. The helicopter even had special safety seats for the babies. The pilot closed the doors before returning to his seat.

"Are we ready for takeoff?" Patrick asked with a smile. "All set," the pilot replied, grinning.

Soon, the helicopter roared to life. As it lifted off with a rumbling sound, Rebecca watched the buildings below grow smaller. The nannies were equally excited, everyone gazing out the windows, snapping photos, and recording videos. Rebecca also took photos and recorded a short video.

The distance from Maeloria to Alagua City was considerable, so Debra had packed plenty of snacks. Whenever anyone got bored, Debra shared them.

The adults had pre-prepared breast milk for when the babies got hungry; they just needed to warm it. They set off in the morning and didn't arrive until around four o'clock. Rebecca looked at the scenery as the helicopter descended, her heart racing with an indescribable sense of security. This was her true hometown.

Due to Rebecca's need for discretion, they didn't arrange a large welcoming party. Only the most trusted individuals were waiting. Patrick and Debra disembarked first, helping Rebecca, followed by the nannies carrying the babies.

"Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter, Ms. Carter," a man around Patrick's age greeted them respectfully. "Becky, this is Dave Koplan. You can call him Dave. He's been my assistant for over twenty years. Whenever you're in Alagua City and need help, you can always turn to him," Patrick introduced him with a smile. "Hello, Dave," Rebecca greeted him warmly.

Dave smiled at her. "Ms. Carter, you are very beautiful, just like Mrs. Carter when she was young."

Patrick burst out laughing, delighted by the compliment. Debra couldn't help but laugh, too.

Dave then turned to the babies. "Mr. and Mrs. Carter, these two little ones must be Ms. Carter's babies, right?" he asked with a smile. Debra nodded. "Yes, the elder is a daughter named Lillian Carter, but we all call her Lily. Her younger brother is Kevin Carter, whom we call Kev. They were born a few months ago and aren't even a year old yet."

Dave's eyes lit up. "Both of them have the Carter surname?"

Patrick and Debra beamed. "Yes, they are also heirs of the Carter family, just like our sons' children."

This statement clearly established Lily and Kev's positions within the Carter family. Although they were Rebecca's children, they were members of the Carter family, just like their cousins. They were all future inheritors of the Carter family legacy.

Dave nodded eagerly. "Understood."

"Alright, let's not stand out here any longer. We can go inside and continue our conversation," Debra smiled.

With that, the group headed towards the villa. The villa was grand and luxurious, with a unique design.

"Becky, we built this house ourselves, with a full-custom design based on our preferences. Even the interior decor was a collaborative effort," Patrick said proudly.
