"Sure thing." Seeing Severin's arrogance, One-Eye slammed his palm on the table, shattering it instantly.

Judith and Maurice, pale with shock, had never witnessed such strength.

Diane, though aware of One-Eye's unusual nature, was equally startled. Suspecting the restaurant owner's powerful background, she quickly intervened, fearing further offense.

"I'll go with you. I'm curious about this friend!" Diane readily agreed. The manager beamed. "Smart choice, Miss Diane. Please come with me!" Severin protested, "Honey! No! I can handle this!"

Diane, however, turned, handing Selene to Severin. "Didn't you say you'd always listen to me? I'm going to see this friend. If he solves this, it's better than you causing trouble!"

Severin, bound by his promise, was speechless. He conceded, "Okay. He said ten minutes, right? Go. But if you're not back in ten, I'm coming up there!"

Diane nodded and followed the manager to the innermost second-floor room.

"Our boss is waiting. I'll leave you two," the manager said, departing.

Diane, though slightly scared, reasoned that a brief chat and shared wine—the owner's request in exchange for dropping the charges—was preferable to Severin's potential beating. At least, it was worth a try. Meanwhile, Patrick nervously awaited the knock.
