Chapter 73: Many People Want Me Dead

Master Cameron fainted immediately after hearing Ronald's words.

"Dad!"

"Grandpa!"

Maggie, Ronald, and Madam Cameron rushed to support him. Master Cameron's eyes remained closed; it took time for him to regain consciousness. Several phones rang incessantly, and Sierra also hurried to help.

"Leave! You troublemaker!" Master Cameron pushed her away, sending Sierra sprawling to the ground. Hatred filled her eyes. She couldn't comprehend the situation's escalation or why her actions always seemed wrong.

"It's all your fault!" Master Cameron raged, his eyes reddening with anger.

"Grandpa, please don't be angry. It's ultimately my fault. If I hadn't failed to save the draft, this wouldn't have happened. If I'd known, I wouldn't have moved back home. Maybe none of this would have happenedโ€ฆ" Maggie's voice broke, her eyes red, adding fuel to the fire.

"Maggie, stop pretending! You clearly said the Calebs' draft was fine that night!" Sierra trembled, remembering Maggie's words.

Maggie wiped away nonexistent tears and choked out, "The Calebs' draft was fine. I've always said Leo is the problem."

Crying, she silently vowed to repay Leo for taking the blame. She'd treat him to a good meal.

"You never said that! You deliberately set me up, you malicious woman! You want to destroy the Camerons! I'll kill you!"

Overwhelmed by the accusations, Sierra was speechless, unable to retaliate. Eyes blazing, she lunged at Maggie. Maggie, momentarily stunned, instinctively retreated towards Master Cameron.

Would she let Sierra hit her?

Maggie tripped Sierra, causing her to accidentally slap Master Cameron instead.

"Smack!"

The sharp sound silenced the hall. Everyone was shocked.

Master Cameron, despite his life's achievements, had been slapped by his granddaughter.

"You little brat!" he roared, striking Sierra with his cane. "This is outrageous! How dare you lay a hand on me? Get out! Never set foot in this house again!"

Before Sierra could react, the cane struck her, causing her intense pain.

"Fine! You always protect that illegitimate child! You all agreed to this, so why blame me now?" Sierra retorted.

"Sierra, apologize to your grandfather," Olivia urged, shielding her daughter.

"And you shut up! Anyone who speaks for her is out!" Master Cameron raged.

Maggie smirked, satisfied at the handprint on the old man's face. It's always fun to watch dogs bite dogs, she thought. They considered themselves clever, but hadn't expected their plans to backfire. One day, I'll leave them with nothing, she vowed.

"Fine, I'll get out! I curse you to be hit by a car tomorrow! I curse the Camerons to lose all their wealth!" Sierra cursed viciously. Maggie almost laughed.

The Camerons had raised a wolf. Ronald, breaking his silence, exclaimed angrily, "You troublemaker!"

Olivia, seeing her daughter's erratic behavior, whispered, "Sierra, have you been possessed? Kneel and apologize!"

Sierra, face bloodied, pushed Olivia away. "You kneel! I've knelt enough!" She stormed out.

Joseph, arriving home late, saw Sierra's injuries and asked what happened.

"Let her go! She's no longer your sister!" Master Cameron shouted.

Tears streaming, Sierra glared at Master Cameron before fleeing.

The farce ended in mutual destruction.

After comforting Master Cameron, Maggie left. She immediately encountered Sierra, her face cleaned, but her hair disheveled and clothes bloodstained.

"Maggie!" Sierra stopped her, eyes bloodshot.

Privately, Maggie dropped her act. Coldly, she asked, "What do you want?"

"Weren't you the one who said the Calebs' draft was fine? You just didn't want to give me a chance to make amends," Sierra accused, resentment evident.

Maggie smiled coldly. "Sierra, haven't you learned your lesson? Do you seriously believe everything I say?" She leaned closer, her dark eyes intense.

Enraged, Sierra tried to grab Maggie's face. Maggie, prepared, grabbed Sierra's wrist and kicked her ankle, sending Sierra to her knees.

"You! I won't let you get away with this! You will have a miserable end!" Sierra gritted her teeth.

Maggie remained indifferent. "Many wish for my death. Let's see who dies first."

Sierra trembled, unsure if it was anger or fear. She'd seen this cold, cruel side of Maggie beforeโ€”at the last banquet. Those eyes made Maggie seem crazed.
