Chapter 896
"Please leave," Derrick said.
"Derrick, I have no ill intentions. No one wished for things to end like this. If you sign the share transfer agreement, I'll ensure Nate promises not to rename Tanner Corporation. The company would retain its name, even under new management. With Nate's abilities, he can make Tanner Corporation even greater."
"You truly know no shame!" Stephanie exclaimed, her face flushing. She was unaccustomed to scolding, but the words escaped her nonetheless.
"Say no more. We won't sign it, even if we die!"
"Do you think I can't get the shares if you're dead?" Nathaniel swaggered in, pushing open the door. "You're so naive! Even without your signature, the company is mine."
"Oh, yeah?" Derrick snorted, looking askance at him. "Just wait."
"Nate..." Eloise began, surprised by his arrival, but he raised a hand to silence her.
Nathaniel picked up the share transfer agreement, examined it, and tore it in half.
"Nate!" Eloise gasped.
He tore the halves further, tossing the pieces to the floor. With a confident expression, he declared, "Do you honestly think I need a signed agreement? Times have changed, old fox, and it's time for someone to hunt you down!"
"It's too early to be so cocky, you little brat!" Derrick remained calm, a cold smile playing on his lips.
"We'll see who laughs last!" Nathaniel turned to leave, glancing at Eloise. "Come on. Haven't you had enough of their mockery?"
Eloise, speechless, looked back at the couple, her lips moving slightly. Without a word, she followed her son. After getting into the SUV, Nathaniel blindfolded her again; this time, she didn't protest.
With only darkness before her, Eloise's mind sharpened. She asked coldly, "When did you start planning this?"
Nathaniel's hands stilled, his lips curling. "When your precious daughter put me in that shabby little house. I vowed a grand comeback, to ensure no one would ever take me for a joke again."
Eloise was stunned. She'd never imagined such early planning, remaining entirely unaware. She had naively believed her children could reconcile.
'How naive I have been! There are no genuine feelings, no true relationships in the world of the wealthy. Everything is a lie.'
